Chris Collins "I love Indiana basketball, at the high school, grassroots (levels)." When asked about McIntosh beating Indiana

Not saying he is the guy but it would be a good idea for the next coach to really understand this. You don't need all Indiana kids but there are a lot to consider

Absolutely. This is why a guy like Collins could be better in some ways than Donovan. You have to recruit this state to consistently succeed at IU. Collins would do that very well imo. Stevens and Donovan are the home run hires, but it's not doomsday if IU doesn't get either one

I actually love the idea of Collins at IU. It's hard for anyone to win at Northwestern. He's recruited well and turned them around in short order. He's one of those guys that I view as a "homerun" in regards to young guys on the rise. I feel like Collins and Archie could really do some damage at Indiana. I'd prefer we did everything we possibly could to lure Donovan to IU but I'd be happy and reinvigorated with Collins as the next man up.

My only worry with Collins would be him bolting for Duke if the job was available. Other than that I would be pleased.

Billy Donovan is an obvious answer.  Doesn't make him "the" answer.   I think he's an obvious, but pretty short-sighted answer.  What makes anyone think he'd leave the Thunder to come to Indiana?  He's no more likely to leave than Brad Stevens is.  He's got 3 years left on a $30 million contract.  What makes anyone think he'd drop that to come to Indiana?  He's a name.  We all know who he is.   Does not make him the right guy to go after.

He's just the next guy after Stevens since we know Stevens isn't coming.    Anyone who says "then there is no answer" sells the coaching community way short.  You guys think we need a big name?  Like Crean?  Or Sampson?    Those were big names, too.   Billy Donovan is not coming to Indiana.  Oh, and I could not care LESS how many NIT's a guy's won.   Laugh all you want.  You're not doing anything but name dropping.   What happens when Donovan's name goes the way of Stevens'?   Will the next guy be "the right guy" in your eyes because we've all heard of him and he has credentials you can name?

Billy Donovan has credentials.  That is completely irrelevant to whether or not he is the right answer at Indiana.  So go on and "lol."   He's not coming, so he's not the answer.

Neat.

Billy Donovan is the answer to any team's question, outside of a few.  He has a grand slam's worth of credentials.

All of your post is just words and trying to be the smartest guy in the room.  I wouldn't be surprised if you're one who thinks Greg Tonagel is "the answer".

Yes, there are plenty of coaches who could come to Indiana and probably do wonderful things.  But none of them have the same credentials as Billy Donovan.  Only he knows if he would come here, so it's ridiculous for anyone to say he will or won't come here.

Ah, I was hoping he would have changed the auto response after the last month.
