The announcers were milking the injuries hard tonight. We're down one guy from the start of the season. OG was a good player for us, but he wasn't THAT good. They've been talking him up big time since he went down. 

Yeh false. OG was talked about as "The Guy" to watch for during the offseason. I really hate when people try to twist the facts to make the situation seem worse. It's bad enough without false information.

They also showed that graphic highlighting our offense/defense with OG vs. without, never once mentioning that two-thirds of the games OG played in were completely meaningless against sub-300 teams. 

Im im not saying OG isn't really good and a significant loss, but those stats they showed were stupid and completely lacked context.

He wasnt even starting when he got hurt. The constant spinning to defend the results is getting old too. He was the guy to watch bc he has pro POTENTIAL, but thats what it is POTENTIAL. During the game they showed some majorly skewed stats with and without OG. Yeah we scored more and they scored less with OG, did they not see the non conference slate of oppoenent where the stats get padded? Hartman injury is a nonissue. If yoi can beat UNC and Kansas without him, then its a non issue against anyone. This team sucks bc of the coaching (system he runs).

Try to go after Billy Donovan at Oklahoma State......he went there hoping to have Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, but KD is gone and they are currently sitting as the #7 seed. Rumors are he wants to return to college??? Worth throwing money at him.......No disrespect to Tom Crean, he pulled us out of the ashes, but 9 years it is time to a new voice.

Who cares what they were saying. Newkirk was being talked about as Yogi's replacement in the offseason and we see how that has worked out. OG might've been talked about as "The Guy" to watch in the offseason, but he wasn't delivering on it. He had been underwhelming before he get hurt. He was averaging 9.2 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in the 6 Big Ten games he played in. He averaged 9.9 and 4.7 in the ten games he played in against teams worth a crap. His shooting percentages were down from the year before. He was being projected as a 1st rounder because of his potential, not because of his performance on the court. We had a thread talking about who our best player was a little before he went down and no one was picking OG. I'm not trashing the kid, and I hope he has a speedy recovery and a successful career in the league. However, he wasn't great for us. He was an above average player. They're acting like we lost freakin' LeBron James.

Now that McCarthy isn't getting paid by IU anymore he is going in on Crean on twitter. Laughed at Crean saying his number one job is to be the team cheerleader, said Crean is always late to postgame interviews, said 70 percent of the time I wonder what is going through his mind, and a few other things. You guyz get it. I find it hilarious and the fact Crean really said his number one job is to be their cheerleader makes me wonder how he has made it through any professional type meetings with his bosses.

Who was the last IU player that had his best days at IU?

I get that players go on to the NBA and continue to develop. I just think players aren't utilized in the proper fashion for IU to win games.

I haven't watched a game since Nebraska. My father and brother keep me up to date, unfortunately. I tell them not to talk to me about Indiana until clappy gets creaned. At first it bothered me to miss games, now I don't even think about it.

 

I defended Crean last year and early on this year, but enough is enough. 

 

We had Yogi the last 4 years - I really can't imagine Tommy being here still w/o him. My favorite player ever was so good that he saved a coaches job.

Crean's teams always seem to fall apart as the season goes on, all the while most other teams in the country get better.  Wonder why that is?

The list of kids who developed into better players under crean has to be smaller than the list of guys who looked like they would be stars and majorly underachiev for him. Oladipo def developed but bryant not looking good.

We are barley over .500, yikes. Actually, our cupcake schedule, I consider us under .500. Wins vs Eastern Ohio College don't count for anything. 

 

I didn't watch the second half but I assume it was the same old same old. Just another win for the tank family. No way he survives this season if we continue to lose. NO WAY!
