HooHooHoo22 Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 I thought he turned the corner last year. He was calling timeouts, he had decent sets coming out of half time, etc. He even had some decent subs. But.. we have been the same team for the past five years. Same results pretty much as well. Sweet 16 Crean needs to go IF we want a chance at winning a championship. Not many great coaches are available right now sadly..Yes I remember the story of him maturing as a coach and this and that I really thought he made some changes to his coaching ways. That's what I get for getting my hopes up Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Trish, ALASKA HOOSIER and MikeRoberts 3 Quote

With Crean its basically guaranteed that we'll have several terrible losses each season, lose our first game in the Big 10 tourney, and make it to the sweet 16 at best. Trish Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 I'm all for Brad Stevens. He would do incredible things here in Bloomington, no doubt about it. However, he is locked up in Boston. Who all do you have on your wish list? I'm sort of interested in Dane Fife.. I don't know. We need a young pup. ALASKA HOOSIER, HooHooHoo22, Happydaze and 1 other 4 Quote

Brass Cannon Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 I'm interested in Not Crean. I'll try anybody else for 3 years over 3 more years of this garbage. Josh, Hoosierfan2017, ALASKA HOOSIER and 1 other 4 Quote
HoosierAloha Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Players playing within their defined roles would be a good start. That's never been a strength of Crean's either. ALASKA HOOSIER and Napleshoosier 2 Quote

Popular Post Old Friend Posted December 29, 2016 Popular Post Posted December 29, 2016 Listen, as long as turnovers, bad shots, and a complete lack of fundamentals (see : blocking out, angles, footwork, post entry) are tolerated - and they are; this is what we'll get. This is why Crean has a ceiling. This is why he has made it past the Sweet 16 just once in 19 seasons. This is why Wisconsin and Michigan State consistently go to Final Fours, and why Indiana flames out. When we make shots, we can beat anyone. When we play with energy and heart, we can beat anyone. Problem is, even when we do that, turnovers are still tolerated and in fact accepted. Quick, bad shots (which we take at an embarrassingly high rate) are tolerated and might even be encouraged. Winning games is great. I loved winning the Big Ten last season. But this kind of loss? This kind of team? This is why Indiana will never be what it can be under Crean. He does not generally recruit polished basketball players. He recruits kids who know the sport but not the game. Sometimes....many times? It's enough. We space the floor well most of the time, and we can hit shots. But when that doesn't work....when that gets taken away as it did tonight and against Butler, we have way too many turnovers for touchdowns, and we take way too many bad shots. Our post players' footwork is atrocious by the way. Ryno6284, ThompsonHoosier, GloryDays and 5 others 8 Quote

HooHooHoo22 Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 The crazy thing is guys, we can't do simple things this year. I don't think I've see. 1 good pick set this year. You cannot get any space on offense when you barely set a pick. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners MikeRoberts and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote
mdn82 Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Mike Davis had more success hereI want Crean gone, but Mike Davis singlehandedly killed this program as much as Sampson. reconmkd Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Been ready for a new coach for awhile, at this point I really don't care who as long as turnovers are unacceptable and he teaches fundamental defense! How can anyone with common basketball sense give a coach so much money that flat out says turnovers are going to happen? Oh wait we are talking about Fred Glass who isn't against canning any of the other coaches under him, but when it comes to crean well you won a title let's throw a sh*t ton of money at you. Does crean have something on him or is he that good at brown nosing the boss? ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
8bucks Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Sadly before the year I put the pitchforks away. Thinking Crean had turned the corner. Seems every time I am convinced he has to go we beat some folks and as soon as I think we are in a good spot, Ft Wane and Nebraska things happen ALASKA HOOSIER, GloryDays, MikeRoberts and 1 other 4 Quote
