Love this answer to the question about differences in the coaching staff compared to last year's.

Getting rid of that "loser's mentality."

I am ready for some football!!!!!!

Quick update on outgoing transfers:

Philip Blidi has visits lined up to Washington (April 5-7th), LSU (April 10-12th), Oklahoma (April 19-20th)

Anthony Jones is visiting Cal this weekend (April 4-6th)

Not seeing much on Kam Perry or Jared Casey so we shall see on that front.

DE Trey Laing entered the portal at the end of March, not a huge loss in terms of production as he didn't see game action in '23.  By my tracker, this puts CCC's roster at 85 grants for the '24 season although further movement post-Spring Ball wouldn't surprise.879272921_ScreenShot2024-04-06at10_21_26AM.thumb.png.67eb4e7b238983d86f2ca83d87edcc34.png

LeBron is coming! Bond, that is.

Class of 2025 WR.

This kid plays high school ball very near me. Don't know much about him though -- other than he's a 3-star.

He's a junior -- plays at Maury High. They were undefeated and won the state title last season.

Guessing Cig had him on the radar at JMU.

He didn't throw the coaching staff under the bus, he placed the blame on the players. But reading between the lines, you get the difference in coaching. I am not sure how that translates into wins and losses, but I am sure that it improves our chances.

Friend of mine who watches a TON of high school football around here said he's not very big, but has good speed.

Maybe another Jaylin Lucas?

Yeah, Lucas is probably a really good comparison. Shane Wynn is another comparison.  Bond is under 5'10" but is able to create space. It also helps that his teammates on the field are really good as well. He has offers from a handful of P4 schools, Maryland being one of them.

I don't know who Brad Crawford is but he's got IUFB on this list. And if this is even remotely true, it tells me Indiana is finally ready to get serious about its football program. For us that have been paying attention, we already knew Coach Cig wouldn't have taken the job if he didn't have the resources and backing of the university from top to bottom. But to be on this type of list where resources seem to be a larger bucket has me wonder how accurate it is. On the other hand, it also kind of makes sense if you think about it. Coach Cig has done only one thing throughout his entire head coaching career, win. Google him.

Man, I can't wait for the season to start.

I hadn't heard of him until last week when he left IUBB off a "best jobs in the country list" and got destroyed for it lol. Interesting to be on this list though...If viewed through the lens of "programs that are getting their s*** together" it definitely makes sense. I also think Cig/the staff have some key media connections and know how to use them to their advantage, based on all of the good press we've received since the hire. That stuff goes a long way and the previous staff was clueless about it.

You really gotta read this one. This super clued in On3 guy has IU last in the B1G and among other things writes about the QB battle between Kurtis Rourke and…….

Brendan Sorsby.

Ok, maybe he’s actually more clueless than clued in.

He probably had a super secret, proprietary, On3-exclusive algorithm come up with his rankings.

On3 freakin' blows.

I hope, and think, the guy is wrong.

That being said, aside from 2019 and 2020, when we surprised the nation and pre-season “experts”, there have been many many years in which the cycle has been:

1) posters predict enough wins to squeeze into a bowl game

2) “experts” predict we will win less than 6 games and come in last, or next to last, in the division

3) posters call the “experts” idiots

4) “experts” end up being correct.

I am optimistic that won’t happen this year but we will see.

"It's Indiana. It's Indiana, and that is the bottom line."

That applies to football as much as basketball. Maybe more.

I think that starts to change but I certainly can't blame anyone for having doubts.
