Cannot for the life of me understand the Michigan love and/or hype.

Illinois I get; 20 returning starters from a team who won 10 games last year....but Michigan makes no sense.

I also don’t understand why people think Michigan will be that good but they should have a good record.
I just looked at their schedule and of the best BT teams (at least from a pre-season perspective) - PSU, Ohio State, Oregon, Illinois, Indiana - Michigan only plays Ohio State. Only 1 of the top 5 teams!

They still play at Oklahoma, at USC, and at Nebraska during the first half of the schedule. Their second half schedule leading up to The Game is a travesty but very real chance they are 3-3 and out of playoff contention before the conference season really gets going.

AP Top 25 poll reactions: Oklahoma overrated, Clemson underrated in preseason college football rankings - CBSSports.com

Pretty lazy take here IMO. Doesn't really account for the quality pieces we have coming back or Cignetti's track record with transfer QBs. Plus, his last point on our schedule doesn't make any sense for several reasons. 1) We're not ranked in a spot that would imply we're going to make the playoffs 2) What does our schedule have anything to do with whether or not we're underrated or overrated vs. our AP ranking?

Personally, I'm fine with Michigan's rank. They finished strong last year. This also helps the conference strength talking points, etc. etc.. However, I will not be surprised if they end up out of the top 20 due to a true freshman at QB. To be fair, they play at Oklahoma. I don't know why OK is even ranked but admittedly, I also don't know anything about the team. Regardless, that'll be a tough task for Underwood to produce in that environment on the road.

I kind of think Oklahoma turns it around this year, but I haven't looked at their schedule either. Mateer is awesome/what they thought Jackson Arnold would be and Fernando's old backfield mate Jadyn Ott is one of the most underrated portal pick-ups in the country. And if not...? We can always pick up Venables when he gets run out of there and Haines gets a head coaching gig. I definitely have them thumping Michigan though.

OK could have a better team but a poor record.

Home games include Michigan, Ole Miss and LSU.

Road games are no joke- @Texas, S. Carolina, Tennessee and Alabama.

Woof. At least they’ll have a hypothetical win against Indiana!

That's at least 6 wins right there regardless of the outcome of the game. A 7th win if they beat Michigan.

With all those #qualitylosses, Heather Dinich will have them as a lock for the playoff.
