  1. So 51% is like a good thing, right? From the Bloomington, Herald Times - Anthony Leal, So., Bloomington South: Incredibly accurate from distance, the sophomore made better than 51 percent from 3-pt range. In total, Leal hit 66 shots from beyond the arc. Scored 14.4 pts per game, including six 20-pt performances.

  2. I have no reason to doubt what the conventional wisdom here is, and there seems no logical conclusion other than IU, but.......sometimes the thing you are most familiar with grows a bit stale and something new becomes appealing. Especially if you become annoyed that everyone thinks they know what you are going to do.

  13. I'm blaming them (adults) for making it a 'circus' and a skeptical. Most adults should not need to get joy from a decision of an 18-year-old. I think adults should sit back and wait for the young man to make his decision. The whole 'crying' about when the young man is going to decide seems like an 'adult' problem to me. Just my two cents... like I said ... I'm not too in touch with the recruiting scene. I personally think the young man should be the one enjoying the process. Kinda of my point in the first place... And 'NO' the well-rounded comment had nothing to do with an adult. I listen to the young man speak and gave my opinion. I'm sure he has had adult influences in his life and I'm guessing the ones that matter don't want any part of the circus. If they want part of the spotlight then they're part of the problem.

  18. I was there, too. And think -- back then we actually sold out a few games! I just can't imagine us selling out a game these days. Mallory had it going good, but just couldn't sustain it. Is still boggles my mind how everybody caught up to us in basketball, but we haven't done the same in football. There was a 20-25-year stretch there where Wisconsin couldn't beat us. When Penn State came into the league, that was an automatic W. Now, we can't beat Wisconsin and Penn State is an iffy proposition at best. But they continue to beat the crap out of us in football. I think in the past 50-60 years or so, we have a total of four wins against Penn State, Michigan and Ohio State. You'd think by accident we'd get a W every now and then against those schools. But nope. Doesn't happen.

  21. I agree that fans in particular should just have patience and let the recruits decide when they want to decide. I don't care if they choose in the spring of their Junior year, the summer, before their senior season, during their senior season or after. Until they have eliminated IU we are in a good position. 23. Ultimately, no matter what this would still come down to if she wants to press charges. If IU had physical evidence that could be entered into a court of law they would have an obligation. They don’t in a lot of these cases. That is why all they have a moral obligation to is determining whether or not that student lived up to the code of conduct. Not whether or not they are a criminal. 24. I don't fully understand the recruiting landscape, but I blame the adults for about 99 percent of this nonsense. I've listened to a couple of this young man interviews and I'm impressed. He's a well rounded high caliber player that IU would be happy to sign. I'm okay with him picking how/when.

  29. Gassnola responded with a text that said, “In my mind, it’s KU, Bill Self. Everyone else fall into line. Too (expletive) bad. That’s what’s right for Adidas basketball. And I know I’m right. The more you have lottery picks and you happy. That’s how it should work in my mind.” Self replied by text, “That’s how ur (sic) works. At UNC and Duke.” Gassnola answered by saying Kentucky as well. “I promise you I got this. I have never let you down. Except (Deandre). Lol. We will get it right.” Theres your admission of payola, pay to play, Adidas pays, or whatever you want to call it. Self saying that’s how it works is an admission of that. So what will the governing body of college sports do? Nothing.

  30. Ramsey isn't the reason why Grandpa DeBord is a trash offensive coordinator, no matter how many times you try saying otherwise. Ramsey supporters and Ramsey critics alike both think he's terrible. You're the only person I've seen on any IU site that thinks he is any good.

  31. Really? You really believe this? Indiana will be a top 10 basketball team this year and the program is absolutely on the way back. Baseball is doing just fine. As is soccer. IU has spent millions on facilities and upgrades; and you HAVE to know Assembly Hall for what it is. It's still one of the (if not THE) largest on-campus arenas in the country; and Cook Hall was built many years ago. Women's basketball is worlds better than it was a decade ago. You have to understand why football just won't ever be the bell cow at Indiana, and it won't. Spending money there has a ceiling and will as long as we are in this division. Illinois doesn't have to play Michigan, Penn State, and Ohio State every year. The deck is stacked in their favor because of their division. It's not the same situation. I know...same conference; but save Wisconsin, there's no consistency in that division. Why NOT Illinois? The answer to that question is vastly different than why NOT Indiana?

  32. I'm with you on Hep, but his goal was "play 13," and we can do that under Allen. At least I think we can. His recruiting is on par and even better than what Hep's was; and the goal is still 6-8 wins every year because that's IU's ceiling barring lightening in a bottle every now and then. Even if we hired an up and comer, the odds of his staying if and when he has success are minimal. Again, I don't mean to be defeatist; but we are who we are.

  33. No reason we can't get the up and coming coach from Toledo like Iowa State got. However, we have no chance if we are going to pay what we are paying for coaches. The odds are already stacked against us with being in the BIG East but I do still believe we can find a coach having a good amount of success at a mid major that might bite. Terry Hoepener is the only example I can think of in recent history where we went this route and it was sstarting to pay dividents until his unfortunate passing. Those were the best coached teams we have had since I have been following IU and not the most talented persay. However, when you don't want to actually conduct a coaching search or choose not to pay what Minnesota, Purdue etc are paying you will never have even a remote chance with these guys.

  34. I had the same thought last week but I still think it is a heavy IU lean. I've noticed with this recruitment that a lot of bigger schools stayed away from TJD. UNC and UCLA were the only other "blue bloods" involved (yes I still consider IU one). No Duke no Kentucky and no Kansas. I think part of that reason is schools know he is a heavy IU lean. I'm like everyone else and hope he commits soon but I'm glad he is enjoying the process. Only happens once in your life.

We also lacked in at least one area most seasons. No bigs one season and zero shooting the next. If he would have landed some of those players it would have fixed our problems but I don't think it would have completely masked our ability to adjust mid game. I'm excited about this years team because we have, what seems like, a good mixture of players. A BIG low post player, more athletic bigs and wings, shooters (big and small), dynamic guards, players willing and able to defend, etc. The one thing I'll be curious to see is who gets the ball late, JMo on the block or Romeo up top.

  41. Big agenda, yep, that's it, you got me. Busted. Ever hear of the word opinion? If so, understand what it means? "Seemed like" is another way of saying, "In my opinion" Opinions are still allowed, right? When I read his full quote "in my opinion" it felt more like 'how does he get showcased?' than it did in most of the player quotes about development. So it set a little weird. I didn't feel all rah rah. MY OPINION, I'm sure much like many of yours, could be 100% wrong.
