  3. FWIW, didn’t some kid named Langford destroy Keion Brooks during their head to head matchup last season? Wonder what happened to that Langford kid, would sure like to have him! [emoji57] Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

  5. There's an event taking placed in Minneapolis this weekend called Battle of the Lakes and the Adidas D1 Minnesota team that includes Matthew Hurt, Tyrell Terry and Zeke Nnaji are participating. This from earlier today. D1 Minnesota beats Beyond Ball 81-47. Zeke Nnaji with his customary workman effort scoring 22, Matthew Hurt had 18. 2019 PG Tyrell Terry! Such a slick ball handler. Creative passer. Can score too w jumper and coast to coast drives. Race Thompson is in the gym watching the D1 Minnesota team. From the list of teams entered I didn't see any other Adidas or UA teams participating that have IU targets.

  7. Some things on these workouts. They are much more important than the combine, so I’ll agree with RealIU there, in that Juwan having a bunch of workouts is good news for him as it’s a real chance to get face time with these organizations, get noticed and get feedback. It’s one of the best ways to get a summer league invite, etc. With that said, teams usually have 4-6 guys per workout. I believe there’s a limit but can’t remember the number. Typically teams have 2-3 guys they’re serious about drafting or at least learning more about up close in each workout, then the other 3-4 guys are filler to make it a complete workout. If you’re one of the filler guys, it doesn’t mean they don’t care or aren’t watching you, or that it’s not an opportunity for you to get noticed, it’s just that you were mostly invited to round out the workout. I’m also not suggesting the teams call them up and actually say, “hey we need some fillers, want to swing by and workout?” My guess is that Juwan is mostly a filler guy in these workouts. Again, not a bad thing for him at all, and it doesn’t mean he can’t draw some eye balls, get great feedback, or even get a summer league invite out of it, etc.

  10. Look, I’m just bringing info to the board. I follow Rabby because he has good information at times. That doesn’t make everyone who follows him “sheep”. I have no idea who you are. You may be connected, I don’t know. All I know is that he posted info on Juwan from what he is being told. And what? No idea what that has to do with this.

  11. Which is hilarious, seeing as how no one currently affiliated with UT's basketball program was there when Durant was.

  12. I love the fact there's so many different people on this board; different backgrounds, different professions, different personalities, and different posting styles. I don't like the way certain people post or agree with what they post but it gives life through a different lens. We're all Hoosiers here and want the best for the program, school, and people associated with it. I believe Archie said he doesn't want to use all the scholarships and likes to leave one open. 16. I believe you have info and will continue to have info. The real question is, are these teams telling him they want to draft him? It behooves these teams to take a look at as many quality players as they can. I love Juwan and think he will have a long professional career if he is willing to travel. Is he willing and ready for Euro leagues right now? That’s the most important question. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  24. I was all aboard. until the Henderson comparison. Brooks is nothing like Henderson. If it was Henderson and TJD maybe.TJD actually reminds me a lot of Allen. The Brooks, Williams as a Junior thing is pretty good although I think Kelon is already a more consistent shooter. Sent from my LGL41C using BtownBanners mobile app

  30. Well I am a life long IU fan. New to following these threads in the last few months. The Romeo thread was very entertaining and great to know there are people out there with knowledge to learn from. As for Morgan, I’m glad he has interest but not going through the process since it’s available would be crazy. I hope he’s back with the team, but if he finds a way into the league all the best to him.. Thanks for the help.

  31. They are 2 over and have 3 still in draft process Most think the twins will not be back but if they decide to comeback they will make it work. If they come back and Jordan Caroline comes back as well Nevada could be a top a preseason top 5 team. If the twins leave they will still be a top 15 team in my opinion. They added Amin as a grad transfer that will cover them if the martins leave Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  33. If he returns, IU would have the pieces to create something very special. The dynamics and potential of this team would be fantastic. However, if you look at the flip side, I would love for him to get a shot based on his work ethic, attitude, and constant improvement. It is great to see a good kid get rewarded for having a high character. What pisses me off are guys like Diallo from UK that haven't proven anything, haven't improved, and expect to get drafted based on potential that may never pan out.

  34. It seems to me that the pull for Juwan would be purely a monetary decision; one extra year of getting paid well to be a basketball player, very likely in Europe. Or, one year earlier entry into the G-League with an opportunity to build an NBA resume for an extra year. The counter-pull is a quality of life issue for the next year; without question playing in front of packed houses, adoring fans, alongside his best friends, and on national television can only be accomplished at one place, IU, and that option only exists for one more year of his life . In my opinion, I expect that given the upside of those options, Juwan's family and his values, he will forestall his entry to the paid workplace, and stay.

  35. Regardless of rotation, I am ecstatic that we are much deeper from top to bottom, much more skilled on the wing, and overall our playmaking/shot making has improved. I tell myself daily that I have to keep my expectations down and to not get over excited.

  36. He is a senior who played the pack line defense for 3 years. That is two more years than anybody else on the roster has played at this level. He is a 6'10" wing or stretch 4 who has been a reliable shooter, particularly from distance, and he hasn't turned the ball over at an alarming rate in the past. While I am not predicting this to be the starting lineup Day 1 or even the group of 5 receiving the most minutes per game, I expect to see this personnel group on the floor at times, given Archie's penchant for playing upper classmen, and I expect this group to be very successful +/- together. Green Langford Mc Roberts Fitzner Morgan Fitzner offers a dependable and experienced outside shot, while drawing a big out to the perimeter, allowing Langford and Morgan to work their games mid range and down low. On the other end, he probably knows almost instinctively by now where he is supposed to be on the floor on defense, and what he is supposed to be doing there, and can communicate where others are supposed to be, and what they are supposed to be doing there in given situations during games to all of the rest of our guys who have one year experience tops playing the pack line defense at the collegiate level. I think his presence on the floor saves Archie a lot of time outs, and Archie's timeouts seem to carry a good amount of value.

  38. Hate to be an a$$, but geez, sometimes our fan base acts like the ugly kid in the corner of the party who thinks that a pretty girl will never talk to him, and can’t deal with it when she does. We’ve got a great coach, a killer campus, great history, the best fans, chicks a go-go, some pretty good players already, and have seen five or six five stars at IU in the last ten years, and that was back when we had a goofy-a$$ coach running the show. In other words; damn straight Romeo Langford chose IU...because it was the best choice. So for those that are doing so, stop with the whiny inferiority complex, and stop wondering whether it’s a fluke; we’re about to get a regular progression of big time talent, and we’re about to start kicking some serious backside on a national level. 40. I think the conditioning thing gets a little overblown. Between zero gravity treadmills and water workouts, a guy can stay in shape without putting much weight at all on his feet. Now, it isn’t game shape, but he isn’t just relaxing for 9 months. If he’s cleared before the season, he should be ready for some minutes early on. He looks good in the construction pictures.
