Can I just say I've only been a member of this forum for a few days but I like it a ton more than peegs. There's a reason I haven't posted there since 2012. Thank you guys for being cool. Sincerely. Maybe it's the coffee I'm drinking but regardless of how I feel about Tom Crean I can't help he feel all warm about the Hoosiers. That'll never fade. I can't root against them.

I didn't see the game, but any comment by a coach or player about how good this team can be when their shots are falling is asinine. What team doesn't look good shooting 12/20 from 3? Did any of the national media types notice the 17 turnovers?

Does anyone find it odd that right when crean was announced gone by sources that the boys look like a top 25 team? Pressure off? Possibly wanted crean gone? Or as crean would say they just getting healthy? The reason they shot so well last night imo was ball movement and hustle and improved intensity on defense. Tonight's game is the first time EVER in the B1G tournament that CTC has beaten a higher seeded team.

I'm not going to hate on the guys hoping for losses, but I can't join in. It's a foregone conclusion, Tommy is gone. It's fractured forever. It's over. Might as well enjoy a great win. Fun game today and I hope we whoop Pissconsin tomorrow. FIRE HIM! This is embarrassing

Tom Crean is a great human. I've talked to him a number of times, I've even had the chance to teach his daughter at a certain point. The Crean's are a great family, it's a shame it's come down to this but we need to do what's best for everyone's interest.

Damn some of you guys have let one person repeating over and over that "Fred Glass loves Crean and needs any excuse to extend him" blind you from logic. Also, if Crean won a National Championship, I'm sorry, but I'm back on board. I don't like his style, I don't like the turnovers, and his demeanor is annoying. But damn I'd be in full support of the coach who brought home Banner #6. History says that isn't gonna happen, so don't worry folks. We are not a sound enough team defensively to make any kind of tournament run. Unfortunately, that is most likely also true of the BTT, and our season ends today. Tom Crean could win a NC this year and I'd still be leading the charge to have him fired. I know there's no way he'd do it again because he's not a good coach.

I just can't do it...I can't root against the Hoosiers. I've heard the arguments that cheering for a loss is cheering for the best for this program... But it's just not in my blood to cheer against IU. I tried against Northwestern on senior night and I was miserable. Yes I want Crean to be gone....I want to win too. If Crean is as bad a coach as I think he is, we'll lose anyway... I'd rather see the Hoosiers win though...

Yall gotta stop treating these games like they are job savers.. he's leaving on his own. Sit back, enjoy this last game(s) and root the boys on. I mean, Blackmon just played like he should have his entire career.. setting up others and playing engaged defense. This team is a different animal WITH OG out when that happens. Loved watching his teams play and was a brilliant coach. In my opinion, if he'd have cared half as much about recruiting as he did fishing, he probably could have had 3 or 4 more banners. Definitely one of the best ever. Having said that, he was mailing it in for his last several years at IU. If he could have held himself to half of the discipline he held his players to, he would have left on his own accord. In his mind he was treated unfairly. In my mind, his actions gave the university no choice. Couldn't care less that he never wants to come back. Honestly would expect nothing less from him. Thank you! Old farts are most definitely some of my favorite people. They're usually the only people outside of active duty that I can relate to because their "give a f**k" meter is broken just like all of ours. Haha

BTB seems more salt of the earth while Peegs feels more of like a wine and cheese crowd. Screw that noise.

Glass has already made overtures for a new coach and it's quite possible it's already a done deal just waiting for an announcement date. Likewise, CTC (or his agent) are talking about a new job. Both are too far down the road to stop at this point.

I feel for Tom Crean. I really do. When i was playing in high school i can remember a petition going around that basically was asking the school to let go of our coach even though he'd been the coach for 20+ years and had multiple conference championships and even coached an IU target and future US Olympian Lloy Ball. My parents thankfully refused to sign any of that BS. We were a small school with very very very low expectations. In 1997 when my future school played Luke Recker in the Northeast Regional at the Fort Wayne Coliseum that was the pinnacle of our schools history. In Tom Crean's case, more is expected at Indiana University. I dont hate the guy. I've had multiple friends that were or are students there that have had very positive run in's with him. I appreciate his contribution to the program. I wish him well. He's done.

I don't even see rooting for losses as rooting against IU. I want to lose because it's what's best for the program as a whole. The worst thing would be to win just enough to keep Crean around and stay incredibly mediocre. That would be rooting against IU, imo, and I think it's what the other teams in the conference are rooting for.

I just don't see how after having 21 years of info on him, how you could want to replace Crean with Alford. Forget not being the top of a conference. A good coach can build a location into being a tournament team with consistency. 9 years out of 21 going. What screams IU with that? Crean did better with Marquette building them up. We gave up over 90 against a bad Ohio State team trending in the wrong direction. Iowa isn't good away from home. Gonna go out on a limb and say these last two games are nothing but fools gold. We still are horrible with turnovers, and suck defensively. Neither one of these last two games are any sign of Crean making any kind of adjustments. Dude hasn't grown in 9 years as a coach here, and he certainly hasn't shown anything these last two games.

If I knew he was gone regardless I'd root for us to win the whole thing. But if winning means he stays then no thanks. The ends justify the means. Sent from my SM-J700T using Tapatalk

I've had a couple of run ins with him here in Bloomington ... he's a GREAT guy. Took the time to talk to my kids, took pictures with them....he was very engaging to us as fans. That being said, I agree ... it's not about him as a person ... it's about the fact that more is expected at IU. If we continue down this road, in 10 years, IU will be another program that has low expectations, who has a "history" but is irrelevant. I don't want that. We're nearly there already ..... I mean, we haven't won a title in 30 years!!! I was 6 ... and have no memory of it. Our last Final 4 was 15 years ago.....Duke, UNC, Kansas, pUKe have all passed us by .... To quote another member on this board ..... "this is embarrassing, fire him!"

My mind is made, he will never be a consistent winner. NEVER!

Never underestimate Fred Glass's ability to make a stupid decision in regards to Tom Crean. That's why I say it's best to lose and give him no choice.
