I think someone may have mentioned it -- but this game is kinda irrelevant for UGA. 

As long as they win the SEC title game, this one won't matter.

They will probably be the 3 seed. I would assume the 2 would go to an ACC team

If they lost this and then won yeah but if they lose this one and sec title game then they are going to be out.   If they won this one and lose the sec title game they probably stay in the 12

This game may mean something.

Where do they get seeded if they lose tonight and lose the SEC game?  Fall behind IU ?

They better fall behind IU if they lose tonight. They’re getting dominated by a middle of the pack ACC team. Sooner or later they’ll have to admit that the SEC isn’t what they claim it is.

I would hope if they lose tonight AND in the SEC title game, they get the top seed in the Taxslayer Bowl.

Right -- but what I was essentially saying was they don't HAVE to win this game. They can lose and still have an avenue to the CFP. 

Unfortunately, we don't necessarily have any control of our destiny. We could beat Purdue and still get left out. I would hope that's very unlikely, but it could happen ...

They should admit it but will never do so. It’s the SEC. Hell, the committee had TN leap up in the rankings because they beat friggin 2-9 UTEP. It’s a joke.

Hopefully, take care of business tomorrow and we should be in the playoff. At this point I’m not all that concerned if we are mis-seeded as long as we are in.

I will guess Georgia falls but stays in the top 12  (maybe at 12 exactly). The committee will not let UGA miss the playoff without maximum chaos.

I don’t know about (and still a lot of time left, Georgia could still beat Georgia tech.  And if Georgia is at 12, they are out anyway because the big 12 champ bumps them.  
 

but there is one thing it does:  it prevents  A&M from stealing a spot.  If A&M beats Texas and then plays a Georgia team that lost to tech, if A&M wins the spot they steal is Georgia’s.
