Loaded Chicken Sandwich Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 Not a slot receiver, I’d say that proves Moore wouldn’t have to play slot. Moore can play slot and inside. He’d is the type that’d fit perfect for the Patriots as a “RB” but just be another WR. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
LamarCheeks Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 So, after coaching six college football games (no, I don't count the three last season), Ryan Day is ready for the NFL? ... Is there a joke I'm missing here somewhere? ... And before somebody tells me he has coached in the NFL -- yes, I realize that. He was the QBs coach for two seasons for two different teams. To me, that is a completely inadequate resume for what's supposed to the the best football league in the world, so maybe I am missing something ... Quote

biteoftheapple Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 It will have to be an unseasoned coach to go to work for that team. Loaded Chicken Sandwich 1 Quote

Probably the perfect fit for the 'Skins! What's the percentage of college coaches successfully making the NFL jump? I can think of Pete Carrol....but he was in the NFL first...….Barry Switzer? I'm sure there are more, but all NFL coaches look the same to me. Jimmy Johnson did OK. Quote
mdn82 Posted October 9, 2019 Posted October 9, 2019 Good call, he's probably the best example. So that makes it about a 3% success rate? I don't blame college coaches for giving it a go, plenty of NFL guys fail too, but I sure wouldn't leave O$U for the Redskins or some other dysfunctional NFL franchise that will chew you up and spit you out in 2-3 years. Plenty of pressure in NCAA, but a lot longer leash and easier to succeed, imo. Honestly straight from NCAA to NFL I would think is closer to 50%. There just aren’t many that do it. Saban and Spurrier are most notable busts. I thought Dave Wandstedt was in that convo and he was a D Coordinator in the NFL right before the Bears job. Most cases involved a successful coach coming up on an investigation or a huge money offer. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

INDIANA: MICHAEL PENIX JR.The Hoosiers are a different team with Penix in the lineup. He’s currently one of 16 quarterbacks with elite grades for the season albeit we’ve seen him in just three games this year. However, in those three games, he hasn’t graded below 74.5 and has the country’s fourth-highest adjusted completion percentage at 84.5%. He’s an accurate thrower with a very strong arm and a strong feel in the pocket for his age. He’s also fared very well when pressured, something he’ll certainly see more of through Big Ten play, as he’s completed 12-of-24 passes for 240 yards and hasn’t thrown an interception. He can lean on his strong play from a clean pocket but if the play breaks down, he’s shown he can escape and make plays with his arm on the move just as easy.”WOW. There were multiple stadium-wide chants of "UCLA" after that. I kinda hope a new way to taunt USC was born. IUsafety 1 Quote
Popular Post LamarCheeks Posted October 13, 2019 Popular Post Posted October 13, 2019 Pretty cool story about a kid who plays for Samford. His mother remarried when he was in the second grade, and his stepfather essentially raised him. So before family weekend, he changed his last name to that of his stepfather, who had no biological children and therefore, name his wouldn't go on. Now it will. thebigweave, IUsafety, jk34 and 5 others 6 2 Quote

Loaded Chicken Sandwich Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 I release my CFB Top 25 before the AP it Coaches do every Sunday. One team off this week. Only team I don’t have in the Top 25 that both polls do, Minnesota. AP doesn’t have in Temple like I do and Coaches doesn’t have in Missouri like I do. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote
Loaded Chicken Sandwich Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 I'm starting to become a believer in Minnesota. They barely beat some weak teams and ain't pretty, but they are improving. And with as impotent as Iowa's offense is, I think the Gophers are the second best team in the West. Looking at their remaining schedule, 10-2 is very possible, 9-3 likely. I kinda just forgot about them honestly while going through the teams but they have beaten up on weak teams in an ugly way. I ranked Appalachian State but I also have a history of ranking small schools like that in football and basketball just to “give them a chance” basically. Sometimes I just get tired of the same teams going in and out from week to week. But I also believe Temple and Missouri would beat Minnesota. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
KingPG21 Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 Some of the penalties that Purdue gets called in its favor are beyond nuts. They jump offside shove a lineman to the ground and Iowa gets called for a false start. For such a bad team that they get calls like that mamasa 1 Quote
