James Blackmon Declares

Recommended Posts

I've always liked the Blackmons but if he doesn't want to play for Indiana, so be it. We have some delusional players. College basketball in general does.

I want players who play to WIN and THEN get drafted because they WIN.

Not players who play to get DRAFTED and HOPE to win as a consequence.

I get him wanting exposure to the NBA but I'm not sure his mindset will ever be right.

Yogi went through the same progression.

Anyone knocking this must have zero understanding of the rule

If he stays in, then state your case.

This is nothing more than a technicality

Couldn't agree more. I think any player that believes he can make it into the nba should go this route. There's nothing wrong with getting some feedback.

Once I stop laughing at the lunacy of this decision, I may reply with something thoughtful.  Or not.

This means he either hasn't been going to class or there's a girl involved.  No chance this is a basketball decision.  No.  Chance.

I mean, this is just a lot to imply because a kid is using a new rule to do what is best for him and his family as he tries to achieve his dreams. This sounds like a scorned girlfriend.

End of the day, who cares why he's doing it. He'll probably be told to come back, and then it's on Crean to help him equate team success to achieving his NBA dreams. No need to start painting narratives that can't be supported by anything else than hearsay.
