This is HUGE news. This news is as good as it gets....Now we are automatic Big Ten Conference favorites and a top 10 team next year.  If everyone is healthy---we are deep and ready to contend for Banner #6. An elite 8 finish or better is expected in NCAA tourney next year. I can't wait for next season!

This really will position us well for contention the more I think about it.

OSU lost a lot of depth, but will still be solid.  But the depth will cost them some games

MSU will be uber talented but will need time to gel, costing them some games

Wisconsin will be the wild card, could be really good or they could regress without Bo Ryans influence.  Lets hope so.

Come on Bryant lead us to #23 and watch little brother cry

Agree!  I appreciate TB's comments. He is now one of my favorite Hoosiers.  You can just tell TB is proud to be a Hoosier and his enthusiasm for our program and his love for the game are contagious.  He will help us with future recruiting and will make freshman De'Ron Davis an even better player by going head to head with him in practice every day. He will be a terror inside next year--beast mode!

PG- Robert Johnson

SG- Blackmon (unless he doesn't play defense)

SF- OG ( he's already better than Troy)

PF- Deron Davis

C- Thomas Bryant

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

I think the PF position is the real wildcard there.

Depending on how coach wants to balance things (meaning starters/bench or offense/defense), and how he wants his rotations do work, we could see Davis or Hartman or Morgan. Or Williams, if he does return.

Some outlets suggest that we are now a top 3 team in the nation with arguably the nations best frontcourt. The #8-10 ranking was assuming TB and Troy left.

Seems like it varies quite a bit.

CBS (Parrish?) has IU at #12 after the TB decision (not sure where he had us before).  But others (I believe SI) have moved IU into that 3 team range.

Seems like most see IU being pretty good, but some better than others.

I actually find it a lil strange Troy hasn't declared yet since he supposedly is all about the money. I wouldn't be shocked to see him come back.

I agree.  I thought we would have heard by now of his intentions to explore his NBA option. It's an important decision for him and for the coaching staff in terms of recruiting. I appreciate TB not wasting time to announce his decision to return.  Fans are happy and the coaching staff knows he'll be on next year's roster.

He and others still have time.

Pretty good article comparing the decisions made by Bryant and Labissiere. My favorite part, "Labissiere showed that he could not score over Collin Hartman, Indiana’s 6-foot-7 forward, who was defending him with a broken right wrist in the NCAA Tournament. Labissiere, remember, has four inches and hops on Hartman."

Nice article. Right move for both IMO. Goes to show these mid to late first round guys arent getting a lot of $$. $3.3 million will be gone in a snap if you arent smart and careful.
