WayneFleekHoosier Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Thon would play at Indiana, not for Indiana. Can't argue with that. It works out for many though, but I agree. I won't be crestfallen when he goes elsewhere for many of the reasons already mentioned but he is a fun lineup thought. How does McDAA MVP Cheick Diallo feel about his decision? Or Carlton Bragg for that matter. Yet 5 stars keep rolling in, in droves. MadAboutIndiana and IUsafety 2 Quote

Thon in a lineup would be scary, but I just can't see him being a great teammate and wouldn't like being told what to do by some seniors. Was Embiid the last time a 5 star that went to KU and was a lottery pick? Quote
colonel06 Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 I hope we don't compromise what it means to play FOR Indiana in pursuit of a Final Four and Champion. I don't like one and done for IU to become usual and customary that's for sure. scots07 and Naturalhoosier 2 Quote

HoosierTrav Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Honestly, more worried about what a team with Thon Maker and Troy Williams would look like. I don't really want Crean to waste the time and focus on developing a raw talent like Thon and only get one year out of him. He's not raw on defense. He's an instant impact frosh on the defensive end. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
HoosierTrav Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 I don't think we take Thon if Troy returns. Not that we get him anyway, but I see him being recruited in Troy's spot. I'm pretty sure our chances at Thon have officially reached 0%. Did not schedule an official with Indiana. Ed Smith was asked by Jerry Meyers, whether we would get an official and he was quoted as saying "we know everything we need to know at this point." ElectricBoogaloo 1 Quote

I also do not want a team full of one and dones but we shifted gears last time we won a championship by recruiting and starting 2 JC players. Things change (for better of worse). Quote
Walking Boot of Doom Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Is this the thread for normal transfers as well? There were a few more today including Miami's James Palmer and Arizona guard Justin Simon. Pap, any knowledge of who we may be looking at? WayneFleekHoosier and IUsafety 2 Quote

A grad transfer would be ideal. It seems like Thon is both a stretch and a reach, but like to see him in the candy stripes. Grad transfer true PG would be a "bit of alright" as well. Could we do both? I must concede I love following the moves after a season has come to an end. I thought the NCAA changed the grad transfer rule? Quote
