(2018) PG Darius Garland to Vandy

This is how sources work lol. Rabby himself was saying Vandy didnt plan on visiting him but like I said yesterday and today that conficted with what I was told. I knew he planned on talking to Vandy and UK before he left this weekend so I wasnt sure why Rabs posted that but some people even in the inner circle throw curveballs. Either way this is not news for me. That is what his family meant with the outta respect for the other school thing. I am curious as to what was said by vandy guys.

And this is what happens when people bounce back and forth from site to site saying people said this or that. He never said that Vandy didn’t plan on visiting. All he said was on Wednesday talking to the coach was they didn’t plan to come to open gym on Wednesday and Thursday was picture day so no practice today and they don’t practice on Friday. He went on to say they could stop by.

This post deserves a gold medal lol. I admit he threw me off with that but I knew the family wanted to talk to each school before the weekend. Right when I saw this one twitter I knew there was gonna be mass confusion. I still trust my guy and will refrain from any articles as much as possiblee before he announces.

We are lucky with Rabby and most of our reporters/writers they do not paint themselves into a corner with their words. Other people do though and will put out too much info and then whip up a frenzy. I think that was illustrated today. Nothing drastic changed from yesterday in my mind and I think we are still in the driver seat.

I agree. It sounds like the vandy scout guy is simply re-affirming his points he previously made and he's saying iu is a legit player if and when garland goes to iu to save face.

He also said there could be a silent verbal in play already but not for the team in red and in the next sentence covers his behind and says but I could still see him end up in Bloomington.

Rabjohns posted info from the Vandy Scout site that will temper your enthusiasm. I don't know  how accurate the info is though.

It's really not that surprising if you take the rose colored glasses off. The euphoria of a visit usually wears off after a few days. Vandy was very strong with him before the visit so it could go either way imo. Romeo I think we get.

The "info" he posted from vandy scout is incoherent nonsense with regular glasses on. It contradicts itself at every turn. It's clear nothing has changed. Rabjohns is saying he regrets posting it. Of course Drew was going to visit again. Doesn't change anything.

What Yogi insinuated as a possibility may very well be true. I'm not saying it's what he said happened, but the meeting with Vandy could have been out of respect to let them know he is going in another direction like Wilkes did for us. Just another possibility.

Yeah I knew that was a bad sign on Wilkes. I never thought IU would get him though because of who the coach was at the time

It happens more than we think. Just this week when I asked TJ Ivy why he waited so long if he lost trust in WVU, his response was he wanted to tell them in person he was going to IU out of respect, so people can be optimisitic on here but don't act like since they're teenagers they don't understand respect. These relationships are built over years of conversations sometimes specially a 5 star kid like Darius and being an in state kid. Wilkes though most of us questioned why even visit us knowing he was going to UCLA wanted to tell Crean himself. We as fans dont like it and don't get it but I understand it now more than ever. Darius to IU isn't a sure thing but that visit over the weekend wasn't a normal visit like stated above where the allure wears off after a few days. His family is STILL talking about it and honestly I can't remember any visit in recent memory going as well as his and Romeo's. So let's not act like the dust has settled and IU is just another school now that the visit was over. He loves Vandy, but go read his articles and quotes from after that visit or his UK one. No where near the IU one in that perspective. I would say pump the brakes a little because Vandy still is an option but IU is the leader at the moment no doubt and come next week I expect us to be the school he picks unless he waits for the ESPN signing day special like I have heard someone else may be doing.
