Not sure why you are condescending to me and explaining things I already know. Or correcting me by restating what I said.

Can you please show me where I was condescending to you in my post? I think you shouldn't take everything here so personally as there was not one spot in that post meant to be condescending towards you. I don't even know where or how you came up with that. Maybe you should quit trying to dig into each post everyone quotes you on. The quote feature is for conversation more than disagreement. Maybe you should try and use it that way sometimes. You might enjoy the site better. I actually agreed with you.

The people that agree with his posts aren't documented. We don't really know if he is a minority or not. Although, he is being treated like one.

His points about injuries, suspensions and such are all fair. Kenpom is good but it doesn't account for everything, nor can it.

That is why I added the explanation of KenPom and how they track. Like he said they don't track all of those things so the saying is true with that method you are only as good as your last opponent. He went all ape shit when I agreed with him. Not really surprised either.

Are the people who agree with his posts unable to contribute for some reason? You're right though, all we can do is evaluate who is participating in the conversation to determine what participant has the minority opinion. If other people would like to claim KenPom does not include recency as a factor in predicting games, I'd be happy to point them to the fact that he does too.

No one disagreed with his points about injuries or suspensions, nor did anyone say Kenpom was infalliable and accounted for everything. Kenpom does however account for improved recent play. In the initial post I made, you may recall I agreed with Alford Baily regarding Kenpom's inability to account for everything.

Wow, that kind of went sideways rather quickly. I actually liked the back and forth on KenPom because I never read through his site to determine everything he uses. Thanks Brass, Martin, and mdn for the information.

I think both Martin and Brass had solid points.

Don't really care enough to update:

Rutgers                0-7          0-7          0-14         6-21     Minn (A), NW (A), MSU (H), Minn (H)

Indiana sweeps we win outright.  Suddenly the path isn't completely clear for Iowa.  First a hot Wisconsin then upset minded OSU on the road before IU and then an away game at Michigan.  With Purdue and Indiana on the road and being a game back in the loss column, Maryland needs help.  Ohio finishes with a murderers row.  MSU is the only team that is done with the top half of the conference (excluding OSU) but can't win the conference without A LOT OF HELP.

As to the bottom it looks like Illinois, Minnesota and Rutgers are locks to play on the first day of the Big 10 tourney.  Nebraska, Northwestern, and Penn State are fighting to avoid the other spot.  IU, Iowa and Maryland are almost locks to get double byes.  The fourth double bye should probably go to Michigan State but who knows what crazy upsets might happen.

Have fun figuring how the rest of the season is going to play out.

BUMP..this sorta went away and was covered in the CBB thread, but, nothing like little bro bro helping out big bro bro yesterday.

Edited b10 and overall records. Greens are wins, reds are losses.

OSU can really help IU out today..Going to be tough with Tate out but they are at home.

i think OSU wins this game. This is their last chance to get a signature win at home against the upper tier of the big 10. Without Tate will be a challenge but from what I've seen giddens is improving and Thompson is leaps and bounds better then he was at the beginning of the year. I expect williams to have a big shooting day. Who knows this year in college basketball

I sure hope so. That would give Indiana a share of the title.

if we do not win it outright with how crazy college basketball has been this year I could see a senerio where we share it with Michigan st. We lose both and Illinois beats Maryland and Iowa loses today and at Michigan. Having said this I fully expect us to beat Maryland but if we don't just remember what happened to the last home team that lost and had max on it playing for a share of the big 10 title. It turned out ok for Michigan when they lost

Certainly possible. This year has been wild, and you are never quite sure which IU team will show under Crean. Having said that, I see no way Yogi loses at home with the B10 title on the line. Yogi's mindset is different this year and that makes IU dangerous, imo.

OSU just needs to stand tall I feel keep it close. Iowa will fade down the stretch. Just like the Badgers did to them. Iowa has mentally collapsed for whatever reason. Same reason I picked the Badgers to beat them.

I'd say this is a toss up though. Can OSU keep it close?
