Popular Post Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 21, 2016 Popular Post Posted February 21, 2016 My aging heart doesn't need nail biters but I'll take a win over PUke any way we get it. I have watched our last 2 victories from Las Vegas casinos so you know what that means? That's right, I'm not coming home until Tuesday, April 5. I'm just not sure which goes first my liver or my kid's inheritance! Today was indeed the perfect storm with our victory and the goose eggs for PUke and pUKe! A great day to be a part of the Hoosier Nation. ALASKA HOOSIER, Alford Bailey, HoosiersLoveBanners and 10 others 13 Quote
HoosierAloha Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Since I can't quote the pregame thread... Aloha: Troy's only 11 points away from 1,000 career points. Boob: Might as well go 11 over 1,000 this game. Aloha: On 11 shots...? I'll take it! We were really close to calling that one boob!! IUsafety and JaybobHoosier 2 Quote
VO5 Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 So sick for rojo, really hoping it isn't anything serious. After that happened the game lost a lot of luster for me. Other than that, best atmosphere I've been to in assembly hall since freshman year Michigan. Glad we came out with the win but man my roomies and I were sweating bullets on that last possession before the goaltend. Alford Bailey, JaybobHoosier, HoosierAloha and 1 other 4 Quote
Whoozhers Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 I'm ELATED we won like everyone else. However, that from behind steal from Yogi is INEXCUSABLE! No way that should have happened especially to a Senior guard as good as he is. That's happened to him several times this year. I hope it's the last. Purdue converted on a 3 so thats a 6 point difference on 2 boneheaded plays by our all american. Yogi did shoot much better today, and his overall play was very good. I will take the w. I thought i would never say this, but Teddy V actually called a good game and didnt screw us. He must have gotten nostalgic missing the great Indiana teams. He also embarrassed Painter and iceds OG's free throw. Whoozhers and HoosierAloha 2 Quote

schoosier Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Valentine sucks, always has, always will. I guess I can at least say he wasn't solely biased against IU this game. Way too many fouls throughout the game, missed some travels on both sides, especially that OG one near the end that was extremely obvious. And then he pauses the game for 30 seconds for his special time to yell at a coach. Smh guy is a cancer to the game of basketball.Agree on everything you said although Teddy was as favorable to us as I ever remember. Normally, he goes out of his way to screw us. Quote
Crimson and Cream Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 But there is a difference between a referee and a radio sports talk host. Oh for sure, just acknowledging that Dakich is quite the attention seeker himself, ironic that he pointed that out about Teddy Quote
biteoftheapple Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Oh for sure, just acknowledging that Dakich is quite the attention seeker himself, ironic that he pointed that out about Teddy But Dakich is in the business of creating and talking about controversy. A referee should not, he is just game equipment. johnsoniu, Stuhoo, Crimson and Cream and 1 other 4 Quote
Whoozhers Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Dying to know ROJO's condition. Did I miss a report? Does anyone know? HoosierAloha 1 Quote
chitown hoosier Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 If yogi didn't have that stupid turnover than IU wins more by 7+ points because it would've forced Purdue to play the foul game even if IU didn't score but just managed the clock. Quote

pumpfake Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 First off, this was the game that should have been circled in red before B10 play began and the team took care of business - and played great for much of the game. Purdue's strength is our greatest weakness and we still managed to get it done. The good news is that there aren't many teams with 3 quality bigs like PU has. I only had a few complaints about the entire game (and only the first one made me angry): 1) ESPN sucks, there I said it. I don't get all of the ESPN channels and they continue to push things over to those channels - all the while NOT putting those "missing" games on ESPN3. It's one thing to miss a game that is scheduled to be on ESPNU etc. but another when you make plans and expect to be able to watch the game in full. 2) A few really foolish unforced errors: a) Troy's technical for batting the ball away from the inbounder (he realized his mistake, however), b) Max running the baseline after the possession change for PU offensive foul (Max was the one fouled, he had to know that situation), and c) Yogi getting the ball stolen inside a minute. All these are minimal with the team doing a great job in not turning the ball over. 3) I'll bet RJ's injury is going to be a mystery up to the point when he plays again Tom White, LockdownD, colonel06 and 1 other 4 Quote
Walking Boot of Doom Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Troy played out of his mind. Two games in a row now where he was the x-factor. Oh, by the way, he had zero turnovers. fwgreenway, JaybobHoosier, southsidehoosier and 4 others 7 Quote

This is the problem. We see these flashes from Troy, and he is all world. Then he gives us a 5 to 7 to game, missing more shots than he makes. Quote

I agree though, consistency is missing and necessary. Quote
