Stating we'd get him as a last resort is a lazy take. This kid passed on Duke & UK and could've went anywhere but he decided his top 3. Besides U of L due to everything  going on with them, there isn't  a school that hasn't attempted to get him if the interest was mutual.

Fair and probably quite accurate. This also may be why we have been "less involved" in the Romeo recruitment as of late and seem to be trailing. It is what happened with most of Crean's recruitments with like talent.

I think this is accurate.

They will find out what works and what doesn't and who gets caught and who doesn't.

Adjust and advance.

Eliminating the 1 and dones will lower the amount of money being tossed around BUT then the bidding wars start over with what is the next best available.

Can't say for sure but stands to reason. Wonder how and if this recent break of info changes things. Bozich has been riding Vandy heavy about this recruitment. Have always found that out of character.

It has nothing to do with negativity. It's a matter of being skeptical v.s. being naive. Also I don't think I was being a Dick to you at all. In fact I would say it is more of a Dick move to quote numerous people to tell them in an absolute way that they are wrong because their opinion differs from yours example: Garland is coming to IU, Romeo is coming to IU, Romeo isn't taking money. I was suggesting that you didn't in fact "know" whether anything was being accepted and that it would have been better to say it in a manner of hope rather than fact. I'm just starting to come around to WayneFleek's thinking on this.  I mean, the evidence is right there in front of us.

And I'm not blaming Romeo or his family in all this.  It's just the way things are for 5 stars.

The problem with this theory is that Crean really wasn't recruiting anyone in 2018. He had some early contact with the 2018s but the writing was on the wall by the time the recruiting would have been getting serious. He pretty well said as much on a couple of his post firing interviews.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but all I have heard is the chuck Martin snippet that said he would steer bryant and og to sign with asm if they could get Bowen, but I don't remember anything about money involved. That's fairly grey area, but that's not openly discussing 100k for a recruit...if that is all IU has going on, then it isn't terrible. Disappointing yes, especially after the circumstances crean took over.
