WayneFleekHoosier Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 Seems like previous indications where that Archie had a higher perceived ceiling than Sean.I know we say that as Indiana fans but Sean has had tremendous W/L record over time. Bad in NCAA tourney but wins big almost every year. Not really sure why we can say Archie is better. I’ve always chalked that up to fan loyalty. I think it’s just projection. People see what he did at Dayton, then say, well if he gets the players Sean gets............First off, he may never get the recruits Sean gets and secondly, who knows. I guess we will find out over the next few years. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app lillurk, Maedhros and Bowhunter 3 Quote

And any further visits he may take could also be quite revealing. Iugradman, MikeRoberts and coonhounds 3 Quote

cljones1979 Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 That little **** Dars just won’t stop, will he? Now it is being reported that Romeo will “likely” take another trip to Vanderbilt. https://www.courier-journal.com/story/sports/college/kentucky/2018/03/27/romeo-langford-vanderbilt-basketball-bryce-drew/462703002/Romeo said one last visit to IU and that was it. Now Bryce drew wont leave the kid alone so hopefully romeo gets tired of the crap and his visit there is to tell drew he isn't going there.Sent from my SM-G955U using BtownBanners mobile app Iugradman and mamasa 2 Quote

We were supposed to have the last visit. I still think I it’s a two horse race with us and Vandy. I was leaning toward us lately, but now I’m concerned Vandy may be his leader like most thought early on. Quote

Story doesn’t say Vandy gets last visit, just says he may do another one and they’ve for sure said they are going to Bloomington again and as the last visit. Perhaps the visit to Vandy is to tell Drew in person and thank him, but he’s going to IU. In my opinion, you don’t tell Drew you’re coming to Vandy first and then arrange a meeting to tell Archie in person later. It would get out before the meeting with Archie. Either way, I’m ready for all of this to be over..... Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Iugradman and chicagoHOOSIER 2 Quote

Everyone’s cynicism is what is making it a wild ride. I think the lack of information is driving some nuts and I think that is honestly funny. They keep looking for things that frankly aren’t there. Very few have handled their recruitment with the class and dignity that Romeo Langford has. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Iugradman, johnsoniu, Dalton26 and 11 others 13 1 Quote

I'm not sure you can really ask anything more of a kid and his family.Absolutely. Especially in this day and age. Dude is on social media and semi active too. You don’t really see that anymore. I don’t think you could ask for much more. Like he said in his burger boy interview when he commits there will be no surprises or guesswork. He also relayed that some of his friends have openly discussed wishing they would have waited. Surprised more haven’t with all of the transfers and top players going to the NBA, tbh.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

I personally felt Padgett did a pretty good job of holding things together this year considering all the turmoil Around the program. I believe I read they're giving Mack 4 mil per for seven years. This whole thread is about the recruitment of Romeo. Some seem to think he'd consider Louisville now that Mack will be the coach. Can't say that I believe I see anything in Mack's track record that would change a recruits mind and make him consider a program that is going to struggle for a few years. Quote

Agree with everything you said here, except for the Mack was "ok" part. So to each their own. I absolutely agree Padgett was really good this year. Quote

Maybe I should have further elaborated in my original comment that I don't feel Mack is an accomplished enough coach that a recruit of Romeo's status would consider Louisville now. Your earlier comment about Archie? I was a little letdown when he was hired but not terribly. I will say that after his first season and I'm optimistic. Iugradman 1 Quote
