Article on corruption in recruiting

Recommended Posts

A very long article on an ex Cincinnati assistant coach that is coming clean on things he did to get recruits. The article mentions Iu and knight but not in a negative light. If u have time and are interested it is worth reading.

Hmiel says the late Bill Dally, a trucking executive who became close to several Bearcat coaches, told him he had offered Moses Malone a suitcase containing $150,000, “and that we were third that day.”

Wow.

That's a funny story. No one really corroborates his stories but that is par for the course. I believe much of what he said. Discussing how Knight/Indiana could be much more selective with recruiting reminds me of UK/Duke now.

Teams swooping in late with the big paydays is intriguing. People are so smart in these business dealings.

The behind the scenes world of CBB is so fascinating. CFB is much the same.

So tired of PAY TO PLAY.

Unfortunately so many are doing it that others who normally would not---- think they have to do it too.

Someone needs to get hammered so teams will cut this out.

Down here in Southern Indiana we have heard credible UK stories FOR YEARS!

Sad....

Wow.

Didn't Moses go straight from High School to the pro's?

Doesn't pertain to the article, but I absolutely hate the way college recruiting has gone at the D 1 level...........Why do we even let these coaches talk to 8th graders or freshman? Jesus. Just let kids be kids.

You're right.  We should be focusing on the lower grades!

That 7-year-old has great basketball IQ.

And that athleticism!

Plus, kid is like 4'6" and I think he's still growing. Probably could get another few inches at least. Maybe up to 25.
