Feathery Posted December 4, 2015 Author Posted December 4, 2015 Ok Feathery here is the problem as the mods will see with your post. "Sunshine pumpers" will be a ban. "Assault on the lack of coaching" will be a ban. You can have a discussion without those two things. If you can't you will probably get banned here as well. Even if it's factual and we agree with you we will ban you. You don't know how many people we actually agree with we have to ban because they can't play nice. Don't become one of those people. Please Are you being serious right now? I wasn't calling out anyone on this board and was just giving reference to what happened on another site to give another perspective. Please look at my entire post history and find a single post where I attacked another poster. I will state my opinion, which is what I thought these forums were for. Open boards to have conversations about IU sports. FYI. I'm not banned there any longer as the other mods looked at the back and forth and realized I didn't break any rules. I don't want to see the mods here go down the route of not liking the point of view of a poster and giving them grief for it. coonhounds, MikeRoberts, HoosierTrav and 1 other 4 Quote
JaybobHoosier Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 EVERYONE, there's a lot of lost context here that is being overlooked. You can't go after another poster, especially a mod. Not saying a mod isn't without fault, because I've done stupid stuff before. However, Mdn is trying to drive home that people should have different opinions, without being labeled. Trav labeled Mdn, and Mdn took offense to that. Mdn had every right to respond the way he did. Don't label or go after someone and not expect a rebuttal from the mods. The biggest issue right now is while everyone wants Crean gone, there are a few posters that can't let things go, and EVERY post is filled with the same comments over and over again. That's to the point of having an agenda and trolling. We've been very accommodating and understanding to all opinions, but once it hurts the board, we have to take action. Posters don't understand that we have to try and please all forms of opinions, and all forms of personalities. We do our best, and we've made this forum into the best. This is all behind us now, and we all will move forward. Please email me if you have any problems with that, and I will get back to you as soon as I can. We all want the same thing, and that's to see IU at the top where it belongs. We need to be thoughtful of opinions from all views, not just ones who coincide with yours. All the best, and this is done and over with. I don't want to see anything else on this matter unless it's in an email to me! raorIU, mamasa, mdn82 and 2 others 5 Quote

Uwe Robb Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Yes I have to have sources to have a firm opinion on something, Outside of the one thing every fan holds their hat on(it's his dream job) why would he leave what he has going on at Boston? Perfectly fine for you to have an opinion, I gave you mine. The way you worded it in your initial post was that it was fact. As for your question why would he leave what he has in Boston? Besides the reason you already gave. That and being closer to family would be the two big ones. I can also think of about 500,000 to 1,000,000 more. Not sure what anyone's financial situation is on this board but I don't know many that wouldn't talk to someone about a new position if it involved a $500,000 to $1,000,000 raise annually (those numbers are probably on the low side). Also I have heard people reference what he has going in Boston. I have all the faith in the world in BS, but he missed playoffs first year made the playoffs in 2nd year with 40-42 record. Kind of by default since 8 teams had to make it in a horrible Eastern conference. This year he is off to an 11-8 start I believe? Again, not saying he can't do wonders, but it's not like he is on a 10 year playoff streak or trying to defend his World Championship title. If he left Butler after 2 NC appearances then I'm pretty sure he can leave Boston after 3 mediocre years. A side note, Boston has Kevin McHale on staff now. One of Danny Ainge's best friends and I am not 100% sure if McHale was available at the time of the BS hire that McHale wouldn't have gotten the job over him. Just one of the pieces that might help the puzzle. Again, all of this is just my opinion, theory and a little bit of wishful thinking. What are your thoughts? Who would be on your short list? Popular Post WayneFleekHoosier Posted December 4, 2015 Popular Post Posted December 4, 2015 I am taking a vacation guys. I don't like how the verbal assault was handled or defended. I know what it feels like to be attacked regularly by people annoyed by me on BTB. Lately this has been MODs. A group of 3 or 4 have been on me. I always seem to be defending my views, against a certain few that I obviously bother. The separation of mods and the lay person has never been stronger than it is now. Hopefully my omission will be one less person the mods need to worry about. mdn82, HoosierTrav, VO5 and 6 others 9 Quote

The raise would actually be more substantial considering he would be living in an area that is 3-4 x cheaper to live. That is something that his family took into consideration when taking the Celtics job. No reason to believe that it wouldn't be took into consideration if an offer were on the table. The McHale angle is an intriguing one for sure, and I'd like nothing more then to get Stevens I just can't find a way in my head that it works. To me I don't think money is going to make BS go anywhere. I personally think he's done a pretty good job with what he was given in Boston. I think getting rid of Rondo was a big difference from the first to the second season. Quote
