HoosierHoops1 Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 What makes the addition all the more important is the extra year. With him sitting out a year he will have plenty of time to heal his knee and improve his jumpshot. Yogi Ferrell will take him under his wing and tutor him on getting others involved and etc. He never will be Yogi but he is the suitable replacement people have been asking for. His sophomore year looks a lot like yogis freshman year, but less assists because Yogi was passing to a team full of badasses Quote
HoosierHoops1 Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 I don't think Top 20 every year should cut it. There needs to be a solid Final Four shot every 3-5 years. Top 20 means very little. isn't that what we have? Crean's 4th year, a legitimate final four threat and this year, expected to be a team that could make noise? lillurk 1 Quote

Crean's 4th year, a legitimate final four threat and this year, expected to be a team that could make noise? No, this is Crean's 8th year, never gotten passed the sweet16 and certainly has not been a consistent top 20 team. Can't just be a threat but never fulfill it Alford Bailey 1 Quote

Can't just be a threat but never fulfill it except that what the person who I quoted said "Threat". #1 for more weeks than anyone else sure sounds like a threat to win. lillurk and Kepner 2 Quote

Was also referring to the comment about being top 20 every year not being good enough and I was saying we aren't even that. HoosierHoops1 1 Quote
schoosier Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 This is the best he can do on a 750k recruiting budget? If he had Painters budget he would be landing Taylor University's transfers instead of Pitts. Money well spent as usual. Never Daunted, Class of '66 Old Fart and WayneFleekHoosier 3 Quote
Popular Post MartintheMopMan Posted September 18, 2015 Popular Post Posted September 18, 2015 Boy, with MSU adding Winston who almost certainly will come with Bridges and Penn State adding Stevens today, I bet everyone in this thread who thinks our recruiting was stalled out and our lackluster first recruits weren't going to help us build a top rated recruiting class this year feel preeeeeetty stupid hunh? Crimson and Cream Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 It's not over yet. Still plenty of big names on the board. Getting beat out by Michigan State doesn't concern me much, and Penn St. is a program on the rise who were helped out by the fact that this guy is in-state. BtownBanner6 and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote

Crimson and Cream Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Oh? There are plenty of big names on the board... that we're favored to get? Davis, Alkins, Maker, Kegler are all top 30 guys that we're still in the hunt for. I personally have my doubts about Maker (sorry ALASKA) and Alkins, but last I heard neither are in any hurry to make a decision, and if this team has a strong season anything can happen. Not to mention 4 star guys like Brown, Fisher, and CuJo. A lot can change in the next several months, no need to panic quite yet. lillurk, Kepner, HoosierTrav and 4 others 7 Quote

Gelon, Newkirk, Jones, Davis and Kegler wouldn't be the dream class we were all hoping for but it would be solid and a good foundation for the next few years. That class is a possibility and I wouldn't be upset with it Crimson and Cream, BGleas and Alford Bailey 3 Quote
ALASKA HOOSIER Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 I'm kinda happy Penn State is getting strong. I love it when the Big 10(ish) is bad ass. Gives us a better chance to win the ACC/B10 challenge and only makes IU stronger for the tourney. Walking Boot of Doom, akhosrof and Never Daunted 3 Quote
Jketch Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Newkirk is the future and will most likely be cleared in January. I expect big things out of him and he seems to have a great work ethic. Quote

ALASKA HOOSIER Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 will he be able to join the team come January and PLAY? Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 I thought he could start full practices with the team in January if healthy, but he could not play until next year. Quote
