Less announce, more confirm. They aren't blind to the the rampent speculation. It wouldn't take much more than a passive reference to next year's team/the program to confirm his return.

@GaryParrishCBS: I’m told money is no object at Alabama. Will start above $3 million. Would go as high as they need to go. Gonna make Gregg Marshall say no.

 

Hopefully they miss on Marshall and give Crean somewhere around $3 mil per then the buyout is next to nothing.  Roll Tide!

Or, I could be completely wrong and IU is just afraid of the backlash that would inevitably come when they announced Crean was staying.

Or, if Cream is staying, it could be that they feel they have nothing to announce. Situation would be staying the same, therefore there is nothing that needs to be said.

In 17 years he's won his conference 9 times and finished top 2 14 times, only finishing outside the top 3 twice, and has won 73% of his games.  Granted in weaker conferences.

 

If that's a "bloop double", Crean wouldn't be a double unless the outfielder was Raul Ibanez and proceeded to screw up a pop fly.

If this was correct I would think it would be posted on his twitter account with a link to an article placed on his employers website before he would leak it elsewhere. He would want to get him and his employer as much media attention as possible.

The guy is saying Kravitz went on WTHR and reported this an hour ago. If this was true, you would've heard confirmation from Osterman, Bozich, or any of the trustworthy IU writers/bloggers/tweeters, not a random dude that writes for "Circle City Sports", which has 280 followers.

Right. I think another possibility is this guy taking what Kravitz reported, which I believe was yesterday, and twisting it into something else entirely. Kravitz had talked to Crean and Crean said the rumors of him going to Bama are completely false.

That is kind of what I was thinking. I would forsee his employer being very upset if he broke news like this without them getting the credit or views.
