Hovadipo Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 so we could play KANSAS twice in the non con next year? No. They're at Maui next year. And we play them in non-con in Hawaii in 2016. Quote
BGleas Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 I just hope they actually play together in the same lineup at time, meaning I hope we go big a good amount next year.Thomas Bryant and Emmitt Holt are good friends, and they are going to absolutely KILL IT together next year. HoosierAloha Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 so we could play KANSAS twice in the non con next year? No, possibly in 2015-2016 season. Guaranteed game in 2016-2017 season. 2015 - possible meeting in Maui Invitational 2016 - Armed Forces Classic at JBPHH Bryan Medema 1 Quote

Bryan Medema Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 I just hope they actually play together in the same lineup at time, meaning I hope we go big a good amount next year. That still wouldn't be a big lineup- Yogi- 4'23 (Rojo- 6'3 if we want Big) JBJ- 6'4 Troy- 6'7 Holt- 6'7 TB- (Sideways 8) ' While that's an improvement, I still say TB/Hanner would be a vicious "big" combo thanks to Hanner's weak side talent. Bryan Medema Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 I'd argue that Holt plays bigger than Hanner. I agree but as an impact big, Hanner can do more alongside Bryant due to his length. I'm honesty pretty curious to see who Bryant's running mate at the 4 will be. Lt. John McClaine 1 Quote
BGleas Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Regardless of whether it's Holt or Hanner, and they could/should both get time there, the point is we're both hoping we actually play big with a more natural 4 and Williams at the 3.I agree but as an impact big, Hanner can do more alongside Bryant due to his length. Agreed. I feel the athleticism of Hanner and the motor of holt will be a nightmare for opposing fours. Troy ACTUALLY playing the 3 consistently? Now that's exciting. GloryDays 1 Quote
ElectricBoogaloo Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 I don't think we will ever see two bigs on the court for more than a few minutes at a time. Need to spread the floor with our shooting/driving ability and can't have two guys dragging their defender into the lane. lillurk 1 Quote

I agree for a different reason, it appears as if Crean would rather play smaller with only one big a lot of times. Two true big men appear to not work in his offense as well as the smaller lineup. HMP only averaged around 19 minutes per game last year. Class of '66 Old Fart 1 Quote
BigJoe Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Bryant has truly re-energized the fan base Playing small has not worked against the MSUs and Wisconsins etc You could see how far needs to be traveled as MSU beat us twice and once by 20 and then they were schooled by Duke. Crean adapts to the talent on board-there is a reason he signed 2 6'8" and 1 6'10" and growing Quote

Last year he recruited 3 PFs and a 7' center. 2011 is the only year he didn't recruit a center but he had Cody in the fold. Problem has been the development of the big men and Crean keeping them on campus. Quote

I would like to see if Crean can adapt with two bigs and run some high-low sets with guards spread on the wings. Quote
