(2015) C Thomas Bryant to IU

Recommended Posts

Nope. Not because I don't think those players are very nice players, but because I've not seen enough of Tom's fingerprints on their development to think it would have make that much of a difference. At some point, Tom's ability to coach and develop talent has to be considered apart from that which one might reasonably expect from private practice and physical development. Best example that comes to mind was years ago, under Lou Henson at Illinois. He'd annually get some of the best talent out of the Chicago school system, and they'd often times, stay there four years, (this was before the advent of the "one and done" player).

Four years later, those kids, many of which were burger boys, would be bigger, more physically imposing, and to a degree, fundamentally sound. Still, their overall game never achieved the level of success that everyone projected for them. Henson was legendary for taking four and five star players, and doing very little to develop them talents. I'm afraid Crean is cut out of the same mold, in this regard.

I wasn't considering development. Just adding that talent to this team? Meaning "freshman" talent, which is what Bryant would bring.

Time to gather everybody and make Assembly Hall rocking on Saturday. Show Thomas Bryant why Hoosiers have the best fans in the nation and the best basketball culture in the world. We need momentum in our program and let's make it start Saturday. #HoosierGang (I'm jumping on board with that hashtag too)

I don't think that's correct. Well, sort of. As I read it they can delay loss of scholarships for a year if the financial agreements have already been made for those individual scholarships. Basically, committed prospects do not have to find another home. Things are different for Thomas Bryant.

You well could be right, I didn't read into it any farther than the article went.

Bryant was wearing a Hoosiers shirt. I was behind the basket and the crowd gave him and the Maker's a lot of love as they left the court. Bryant looked like he was really enjoying it.

same I saw him standing up and clapping towards the huddles. Looked like he was into it

Bryant was definitely into the game. He was wearing an IU shirt and clapping along with the hype the whole game. Je'Ney Jackson was at the game and sat next to Bryant and the Makers the whole game. Bryant looking into it and it looked like a good sign to me

Really, Je'Nay was there between them?  Wow.  Respect.

Edit:  come to think of it, isn't Je'Nay the new Kansas strength coach....another school Thon is considering?  Strange.

Hmm. What if Je'Ney was pulling a quick one on Crean and mentioning the whole time how Kansas would be better.

He works with the Kansas football team and he was wearing his IU gear and FREAKING out when we were hitting shots. Je'Ney looked like the most excited person during the game. Doubt he was recruiting for Kansas underneath it all. Come on people
