Good Guy Mike Davis

Time heals old wounds except for the General. The article left off many important facts like how he killed his future at IU with his recruiting in state. The infamous recruiting letter to Conley and His teammate. There was no mention either of his bailing on his team before he resigned and many other things. I always hated his offensive game plan, but overall I think his teams were better prepared to play over Creans. Believe it or not he was a better in game coach than Crean is. I also thought his in game antics were over the top(pounding his chair, storming the court) but little did I know they would pale in comparison. It must be something in the water here lol. His kids didn't graduate at UAB but his teams did very well. He probably got the shaft there. Overall, he's a good man and did his best here. It just didn't work out like many others.

Man, even I wouldn't go so far as to say Crean is a worse game coach than Davis.  Crean is wildly mediocre and drastically over paid, but Davis was just flat bad.

Please.  What a fluff article that ignored all the horrible things Davis did and said while at IU.  He was a horrible coach, a horrible representative of the university and a horrible ambassador for the program towards the fans.

Ever since he blamed his horrible record on the fans, I lost all respect for that man.  I won't boo him because I'm classier than him.  But I certainly won't cheer him.

I remember this article. It was a good read then and now. How he could not get Indiana's best talent is still a mystery to me. His tenure actually brought me to these fans sites...firemikedavis, scout, 247, hoosiernation, btownbanners. I think that's the right order. Its time Indiana gets back to prominance every damn year!

Thinking about this post made me feel ridiculous.  From the original article to this post....Davis showed more class than me.  I was probably wrong stating that I have more class than he.  The rest is still true though.

I hope we whoop his team by 90 and he gets kicked out of the game.

Guys, I have to admit something.

My whole family and extended family are all Terps. I watched the 2002 Championship game from Cole Field House rooting against Indiana. I greeted the Terps as they came off the bus as champions and have a dozen shirts from the event.

I'm sorry guys. I didn't know. I DIDN'T KNOW!

Have you repented for your sin? Lol

Went to one of his practices. Real nice guy. That 2002 run to the Championship game was great. That team had good backcourt and frontcourt talent (recruited by RMK). We don't see that balance much at IU these days, sans CZ's two years. A healthy Coverdale would have made a difference in that game. I'd clap for Mike Davis when introduced.
