I know rankings aren't everything but ESPN has Michigan State as a 3 seed and they are ranked 4th. They also have Kansas as a 1 seed. I don't understand that at all.

Michigan st is 3-4 in Quad 1 wins with a SOS of 82 (non con 202). 2 wins against teams projected into the tournament. Kansas is 10-3 in Quad 1 wins with a SOS 2 (non con 16). 10 wins or more against teams projected in field or on the bubble

It blows my mind you can have 3 quad 1 wins but only 2 wins against tourney teams. They need to fix the quads if a quad 1 team isn't even in the tourney.

More emphasis on road wins which is an improvement over the old way in my opinion There 2 best wins were against Purdue, and North Carolina at home. Their other quad 1 win was on the road at Maryland (1-75 rpi on the road is a quad 1 win). Maryland was 70.

I understand it all can't be equal it is harder to win on the road, but letting quad 1 go all the way up to 75 might be too much.

Old system Quad 1 was basically 1-50 rpi (road, neutral, or home). The change came from a meeting with coaches and others involved met with committee in off season that wanted to weight winning on the road and neutral differently. Definitely not perfect but its something the coaches wanted to do

That makes sense. Just with my eye test (which means nothing) Michigan State beats Kansas by ten on a neutral court. Michigan State has depth and Kansas does not.

Congrats to Mike Roberts (associate head coach) and UNCG! Going dancing for the 3rd time in school history. Laugh at me now but I'm picking the Fighting Mike Roberts' as my upset special this year...I don't care who they play! They're solid and senior led...watch out!
