WayneFleekHoosier Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Always wondered why a speedy guard never got steals. I assumed it was to keep fouls down, but man 1 per 40 minutes??Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners Stuhoo and HoosierAloha 2 Quote

KelleyHoosh Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 I know it makes more sense for them to switch to quarters, but I dunno. I like two halves. Puts more emphasis on momentum IMO hsrtxp and HoosierHoops1 2 Quote

Puts more emphasis on momentum IMO I'm torn on this as well.I like how it's unique to college basketball. Moving to quarters has it's benefits (less timeouts for one), but college basketball loses a bit more of it's niche in the process. HoosierAloha and KelleyHoosh 2 Quote
HoosierAloha Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 I don't mind 4 quarters. It's good to get in line with high school and pro ball. It provides more tv commercials for the almighty $$$. All that said, I don't want college ball turning into the NBA lite anymore than it is. I really hope they focus more on traveling and keep the continuation rule down. If NCAA turns into star treatment, and 1s for all, and ignore when the ball handler stops dribbling and ticks the ball I'll be out. There's still a small bit of pureness in college ball. bnkepner Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 My only wish is that we could limit the amount of media timeouts. Watching any college game gets ruined by so many tv timeouts Dalton26, BtownBanner6, bhaggard89 and 2 others 5 Quote

Josh Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Media timeouts are fine. They're consistant at every 4 minutes. Take timeouts away from the teams. That's what stretches games too farSent from my SM-G920P using BtownBanners mobile app bnkepner 1 Quote
biteoftheapple Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 True, but there are too many right now. They didn't always have so many and games were broadcasted just fineFor as long as I recall, its been standard for media timeouts to be every 4 minutes of game time. The number of team timeouts have been lowered from 5. So I do not understand your reference. Quote

Coaches in the NBA typically have a great knack for waiting for media timeouts instead of using their own. In college it seems the coaches don't do that at all. They'll call a timeout literally seconds before a scheduled media timeout. Napleshoosier and bnkepner 2 Quote

HoosierAloha Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 The only thing I like about that is experience but unless things change Hartman will pickup quick fouls. JMo coming in to defend Bragg and switching OG onto Jackson should even things up. Strategy should be to run and pressure KU to go to one big. For the most part, I like IU's chances against anyone that's playing only one "big." IUsafety, Brass Cannon, Napleshoosier and 1 other 4 Quote
