Not even two weeks ago, Oregon State upset Gonzaga in Corvallis. 

Tonight, however, the Zags are making the Beavers look like buttheads -- 50-30 with a minute left in the first half.

It’s been that way for a while now but yeah with even more super conferences and more teams it’s more noticeable.   There was a stretch for awhile where the B1G regular season winner was the one with the worst or bottom 3 strength of schedule within the conference

Just a 30000 ft view of college basketball currently is NIL, great recruiting a good coach don’t necessarily guarantee a level of success. So many talent laden teams play well for stretches but then seem to weeks or even a month off.

Watching the Journey gives you insight on some recruiting battles that never really were actual battles after hearing the kid talk.   Episode on Maryland and Queen and it was pretty clear he was going to stay home.   This weeks episode on Michigan and Wolf and there was 0 chance he was going anywhere other then Michigan.   Mom’s whole side of the family basically went to Michigan and he grew up a Michigan fan.

Maryland started last week on the bubble and 0 road wins.   They go 3-0 with 2 road wins and now are solidly in the field.   B1G gives teams opportunities to change their fate quickly if they can sting together some wins

Big Ten this year is going to be Michigan State, Purdue, and then about 12 teams within a game of .500.  IU could go 11-9 in conference and finish 4th or 5th in the conference.

Sparty back half of the schedule is tough.   I’m interested to see how they do against the top of the league.  They feasted on the bottom half so far
