I don’t know how many minorities are actually on this board. I’m one of them and I only speak about myself. For me personally even with graduate degrees and an MBA from UNC/IU and even being financially well off your aware of it 24/7. It’s not always right at ya like a KKK member out to get you but it’s constantly there. There really is no right or wrong, it’s just always there and something I always have to be aware of. When people here say “watch it be about race” I kind of roll my eyes a bit because I just don’t think people get it. As a minority, I always have to think about my surroundings and how to converse with people. It’s “watch it be about race” because as a minority your taught to always know your surroundings and to think about how to engage with people.  As a minority, I have to ask myself the way Gard grabbed Howard, would have he done that to Izzo or Painter? It’s not fair to maybe ask that question but because we live in that world we constantly have to ask that question. Just my point of view and I’m closed on this particular topic.

I completely get that but it shouldn't even come to the point we're questioning whether he would do that to another coach. It's a matter if his actions are right or wrong. Period. If he would have done it to Izzo or Painter that doesn't make it right. It's that simple. He crossed a line and should be punished. Howard crossed the line even further and should receive a harsher punishment.

In what situation, was Gard's actions appropriate? No, not even close. Howard mouthed off and was walking past him. Gard felt he could physically stop him and then play the victim card. Several years ago that action (physically grabbing a player and getting in front of him to stop him) might have been appropriate towards your players. I'm not sure that is acceptable anymore. I can't think of a scenario I would do that to someone. I don't think there is a scenario where if someone did that to me I wouldn't create separation between them and me. (Past actions)

And the Big 1.o celebrates it on the BTN The Journey. They could correct it to protect other players in the conference but they encourage it.

My 2 cents. Our season is so bad the most interesting thing on our board is a fight between two teams we hate and never seem to win against. Howard was definitely in the wrong I mean Bob knight lost his cool all the time and didn't do anything that ridiculous lol

Choking one of your own players, head butting one of your players, kicking your own son. I watched him flip Purdue Person Vitale over once, now that one was Dickie V's fault he jumped on Knight's back surprising him. But Knight did a lot of bad things.

I'd say he wouldn't do it to Painter or Izzo because those two are kind of the "old dudes" of the conference. By far the longest tenured of any coaches I believe. All of this stupidity has literally zero to do with race. Not a thing. But people will continue pushing that crap narrative. Whether anyone likes it or not, Gard didn't throw as punch or slap thing or whatever Howard was trying to do and Howard has already had an incident once. I don't remember Gard having any similar incidents with other coaches. Howard just still acts like an NBA player where everyone else is wrong and he's right. Up to the Big Ten to take care of it. That goes for Howard and Gard. Along with Gards inability to control the dirty play of his players. There definitely seemed more to it all than just coach mad at coach. A lot seemed to have boiled over outside of that.

1.  Neil Reed shouldn't have walked into his hand

2.  Sherron Wilkerson's head shouldn't have been there

3.  Who doesn't want to?

I'd also like to point out that Bob Knight did all of these alleged things to his own players.  These players knew who he was when they signed up to play for him.  If any of them said they were surprised that any of these alleged incidents occurred, then they're lying.  They all knew what they voluntarily signed up for.

Nobody on other teams signed up for what Howard or Gard did.

4.  He just showed them toilet paper.  Not the full poop.

That would have inspired me..........................................to leave the locker room.

Also, do away with the handshake lines. This isn't youth sports. It's a highly competitive game and emotions run high, no reason for shaking hands

Baloney.  Time to be a man and congratulate your opponent.  Boxers literally beat the crap out of each other, and usually give a handshake at the end.

Right, let's not call it a "punch."  It was some sort of girliman slap.

But rather than fire, suspend, etc. treat them like the babies that they are.  Just put the two the them at center court, shirts off, and wiffle ball bats in hand.  They can take turns smacking each other with plastic bats (no head shots) and all the money goes to charity.  What a way to start off the Big 10 Tourney.

Lol we will never agree on this so I won't bother. Just saying imo what I saw yesterday was unprofessional. Only a few players ever talked poorly of knight.

I'm down for that. You know Gard gonna play dirty.
