I think if Howard doesn’t throw a fit there’s nothing wrong with what Gard did. Howard comes in hot with the “I’ll remember this” BS and Gard seemingly tries to explain why he did what he did. I didn’t necessarily think Gard grabbing Howard to explain himself was inappropriate, or at least not as inappropriate as Howard grabbing an entire handful of Gard’s shirt as a response. Howard acting like a pissed off teenager made a bunch of not bad things look way worse than they were. 
 

I hate defending Badgers though, so yes suspend them both. Give Gard that hilariously weak max punishment and find a way to fire Howard out into space on Elon Musk’s next electric car rocket launch.

Agreed, Howard escalated it beyond the acceptable.  But Gard crossed a line here too.

One could argue that Howard having his 5 star starters pressing a bunch of walkons down 15 with 15 sec which led to Gard calling a timeout which led to Howard trying a blow by that led to Gard not having any that and stopping him which led to Howard pointing his finger in Gards face which led Howard to swing at another assistant coach as the instigator 

I agree with that, but I'm talking about Gard grabbing Howard and pulling him back. They had already shook hands and were pretty much by each other.

They didn’t shake hands because howard did the blow by And saying I will remember this.  Gard grabbed him to explain why he called timeout.  Probably could of done without doing that but they definitely didn’t shake hands because howard was too busy being a clown baby because they lost

I agree. I hate Wisconsin but they are not in the wrong. I actually like Gard more for coaching his subs through the end. Howard taking exception to that is a joke and he is quickly becoming one too. 
 

if anyone had the right to be pissed it was Gard - Howard was the one still playing his starters to the end in a blow out and full court pressing Wisconsin’s subs. I don’t mind anyone playing till the very end but Howard wanted to do it but was appalled that Gard kinda did

I'm not defending Howard. I agree with you he is a clown. I believe Gard instigated the incident and is not getting very much criticism. He should be getting more

I've watched the video 10 times, and I don't see anything wrong with what Gard did.

This is 100% on Howard for escalating the situation.

Lots of coaches get "handsy" after a game to try to explain themselves, but Howard reacted by immediately acting like a teenager looking for a fight.

From the other angle I thought Gard had crossed a line grabbing his arm and turning him. Both were in the wrong but Howard tripled-jumped the line while Gard, in true Wiscy fashion, toed that line. I'd like to see another angle, Gard constantly looking to his left looked sus. Howard and any player who threw a punch should sit for the rest of the season.

Agreed and Howard doesn't have any right to be pissy about the timeout when you/re pressing their subs with 25 seconds left down 15.

Is there a more underachieving team in america than Michigan right now? Elite 8, return some of their top pieces, add more 5 stars and transfers and a bubble team that should end the season without a coach and at least 2 players

Gard initiated this whole thing by putting his hands on Howard to begin with. He grabbed and turned the man.  I have no problem with the initial blow by from Howard and could care less what he said but what Gard did was unacceptable. Can’t put your hands on someone in this day and age.  Just can’t do it.

Howard obviously reacted in the worst way possible and will get his and rightfully so while Gard will more or less get off the hook.  Before Howard threw down it was Wisconsin police having to pull Gard back because he was the aggressor.  

I also have a big problem with Badger staffers getting in the face and having words with UM players before Howard did what he did.  These are student athletes and you can’t do that.  There should be serious repercussions for that but it probably won’t happen.  
 

Howard will get his but Wisconsin comes out of this looking the worst to me and Gard trying to be a tough guy and instigating the whole thing while probably getting off the hook makes me sad.

You can call Howard a clown if you want but Gard set this whole thing off by being Gard.
