I watched a view from directly behind the play that showed the ball going away from the basket -- it had no chance of going in.

I disagree. Lol. I'm far from alone in seeing a clear goaltend. Not that it really matters.

A view as his hand initially comes in contact with the ball. Looks like the best angle of the relative position of the defender, the rim, and the ball.
