And a transfer from St John’s.   Brown started out at Nevada transferred to Arizona and ended up at Louisiana

Hopefully Woody has the team watch this game. They weren't getting the ball to the FT line with ease. Perfect spot to put Race and have Trayce working the baseline.

 Colgate is a good mid major team.  They were a tourney team from last year and NET darlings.   Most players returned this year and they almost got NC State also.

Their second leading scorer is a St. John’s transfer Williams. Their 3rd is another 6’11” forward. Not your average mid-low major team tomorrow.

As an McDonald's AA, he's had an underwhelming career so far.  At Nevada his freshman year he was only getting 3 points and 2 rebounds per game in 10 minutes.  Transferred to Arizona, sat out a year, then averaged 9 1/2 points and 5 rebounds in 19 minutes per game.  He's been pretty good so far at Louisiana, averaging 14/7.

They are 3-0 but it's really hard to tell anything given their level of competition.  Two of their wins were 81-47 and 84-72 against non-division 1 teams.  Their one game against a division one team was a 66-45 win over Southern Mississippi, but Southern Miss is probably the worst team in conference USA.

To be fair, Colgate is a decent team for a small D1.  They went 14-1 in the regular season last year (played only games in the Patriot league plus three non-conference games) and only lost at North Carolina State this year by 3.  As USPS mentioned, they do have the ability to hit threes.  They went 12/26 at NC State, so with their 18/43 today against Syracuse, that's 30 of 69 from three against ACC teams in two games.

Bucknell gets a putback up at the buzzer on a miss and we are going to OT at Illinois St 

Vandy in a battle with Winthrop.  Candy only up 1 with 17 min to go 

DePaul only up 2 on Western Illinois( have a win over Nebraska already)

I just watched the Purdue/UNC game…. No way there are 5 teams better than Purdue. I’m sick over it. They can win it all this year. I don’t see any chance that we stay within 10 points of them in any game. Better at every single position outside of TJD.  Even with him, Trevion Williams is fully capable of holding him at bay.

I can’t disagree. But that’s why we play the games. Painter is on fire lately, even recruiting fairly well. I remember wanting Sasha Stefanovic over Grant Gelon eons ago. He’s blossomed to a better college player than I expected. Can really shoot the rock. Edey at times is unstoppable. Williams as a super sub is silly. Ivey will be a lottery pick.

My hope, is Ivey has the tendency to force and that’s the most likely way they lose. Get Ivey to try to hero ball.

The tournament doesn't start for over 3 months. A lot can change in that amount of time. Purdue has an edge over most teams right now because they returned a lot and didn't deal with much roster turnover. 

 

I do agree that we'll be lucky to stay within single digits of them, even at home. It's just inexcusable that we couldn't beat them last year or the year before. Archie Miller set this program back big time and they took full advantage of it.

I think Nova and Purdue were the only power 6 schools that didn’t bring in any transfers.    Not a surprise that these teams look so good early on.   Continuity and getting old and staying old might be an advantage early on against teams that have new pieces to fit.   Just my opinion though

Plus tomorrow will say more about purdue. There good but let's see how they do against nova. Plus I believe iu can beat them at assembly hall the same way they beat us years ago when we were clearly the better team. By wanting it more

I’ve watched them a few times and I fully agree. I would pick them on a neutral court against anyone besides Gonzaga.
