btw, with Texas Tech losing we're down to 8 left till the streak extends to 43 years.

Ironically, three of the eight in the running are ...

1). The team we beat to cap the last unbeaten season

2). A team coached by a guy who left our program in ruins

3). A team led by someone we reportedly wanted to coach us after the aforementioned coach totally screwed our program

Rick Pitino agrees to terms to coach in EuroLeague.

He's coaching a Greek team. If things start to go awry and the natives get restless, I can see it now:

Pitino: "Poseidon's not walking through that door, fans. Zeus is not walking through that door. Apollo's not walking through that door. ... As soon as they realize those three guys are not walking through that door, the better this country will be for all of us. ... All the negativity in this country sucks."

"If Aphrodite walks through that door I'll be back in 20  for 15 seconds."

Fixed that for ya'.

"UCLA has three former five-stars and five former four-stars in the available lineup, and is getting blown out by any good team it faces and is being taken to the wire by average teams."
And "UCLA is averaging 6,150 at home"  Fat lady is singing....unless he pulls off some late season miracle, which would be hilarious. Win the Pac 12 tourney, and a game or 2 in the NCAA's. Suck on it UCLA!

Really can’t help but enjoy reading that. I tend to believe he is a scumbag, UCLA is a historical cheater, and I’m confident in assuming their a present day cheater as well.

Texas is building a new $300M arena. It’ll seat 10K for basketball games. Their current arena(which is only 41 years old) is set to be demolished because of expansion to the medical school.
My question.. $300M is what they are paying for a place that seats 10K and no practice facility? I’d be getting out quick if I were Shaka. You’d think you could get 15K for $300M. The project is being paired with Oak View Group who will build and manage it. They will provide about 60 days annually for men’s and women’s basketball games and other events.

It’s not basketball getting screwed. It’s 10k by design because attendance nationally is dropping. Schools will be smart to start building/renovating arenas with/to smaller capacities and providing a better gameday experience for the 10k that want to be there. This is also a case of Texas having more money than it knows what to do with. I’d be shocked if they don’t already have a great practice facility, but maybe they don’t?

Also, where’s Shaka gonna go? He doesn’t exactly have a ton of leverage around the country at the moment.

My wife actually had an offer to teach at that medical school. Their lowball offer makes me question their commitment to it and education as a whole.
