Mizzou is going to be very good! Crazy how a team can go from last in the SEC the last few years to probably a top 10-15 team. It helps when you hire a father of two of the best high school players in the country!

And predicatively...back to the bottom. It'll be a fun year for Mizzou fans though

I think Michael Porter may be the only one and done from this group. It is interesting to note the Porter's have three younger sons still to come. So if they are anywhere near the two oldest in terms of skill level, it will be the gift that keeps giving for Mizzou.

mizzou fans have to be over the moon happy right now compared to their outlook a season ago.  and just think, they could have had Crean.  (just teasing, I actually think Crean might get the same results as Martin over time or better but certainly not as quickly)

I've wondered how much interest Mizzou had in Crean. There was definitely some buzz for a while. The thing with Crean is he would have been too stubborn to hire the Porter father IMO and that likely would have been a deal breaker. I do think he lands back in coaching after this season and ends up at a school like Clemson. We'll see.

Counzo Martin assembled a talented roster at Cal a few years ago. They were upset in the first round by Hawaii. I think Martin will get talent to Mizzou but never really do anything with it.

The job security for a coach like that is approximately 9 years ;)

Should be an interesting year I think Pitino and Minnesota will be a team everybody should watch out for. I'm just hoping the NCAA does something to UNC and that they tell Louisville to get rid of their banner but they won't.

Glad they're in the SEC. We definitely don't have to worry about the top freshman missing the tourney this year.

You never know, remember Ben Simmons' year at LSU. They also had 5* Antonio Blakeney as a freshmen. It was a complete disaster.

Cuonzo Martin is a far better coach than Johnny Jones (or Lorenzo Romar if you want to use Fultz as an example). They should make the tournament.

Seeing a lot of reports Coach K could be done after this year. Pure speculation by most on twitter, but it'd be foolish to expect Duke to drop down on kids lists. Duke is a machine. It will be interesting to see who they hire if something does happen w Coach K. I expect Mike White near the top of that list.

It'll be interesting to see how much money they're willing to pay his replacement. Doesn't K make a billion a year? I'd think they could get White for $4 mil/year. Are they willing to stay paying upwards of $10million for somebody like Stevens?

It'd be real interesting if the AD hires his own kid to replace an icon. Even if Mike is qualified for the job, I'm not sure if Papa White hires him for both their sake. My hunch is that Capel is the fall guy(guy who replaces the legend), then maybe White, Collins, or Wojo fight to see who gets to be the knight in shining armor.

Duke may be a machine under K, but have you ever seen a program on top in any college sport have a seamless transition to stay on the top? I am 35 and I don't recall any program stay on top after a legend retires.
