OFF TOPIC: is anyone else having problems logging in on either Tapatalk or the Btownbanners App. I cant log onto either. I even changed my password. I can log into Btownbanners on my laptop, but not either app.

Dalton made a post in the app thread that 41 is aware of the issue of not being able to log in and they are working on a solution to the problem.

41 has a new person reworking the app.  He is aware of the issues and it's all part of the solution.

Ehh... I don't really have a problem with that. Gelon is not a Big 10 caliber player and Archie isn't one to sugarcoat things.

Gelon could be mad about what he was told and making it sound worse than it was.

Gelon should blame Crean not Archie. Gelon wasnt even close to playing at this level and Archie had to be the grown up and say no.

Looking at Grant he is not a big ten player and he was never going to get playing time and I'm sorry to say this but sometimes kids need to hear the things they don't want to hear which is the truth. Look we all know Crean should not have given him a scholarship but at the same time he thought one thing and then got told another. While I can see his point in all of this but Miller and the rest of the coaching staff made the right decision and had to consider other players who were better than he was.

Arch was honest to Gelon and offered for him to stay at IU as a student only for free. In the long run for Grant that would have been much better option than State Fair U.

I imagine that I am considered a purist around here, and yet this doesn't bother me at all. Not one little bit.

The coach that actually did the real disservice to Grant Gelon was Tom Crean. Grant Gelon should never  have been offered a scholarship to a high major school. 

 When Archie told him that truth in a gentle way that any college player should understand, instead of accepting  it Gelon  apparently informed the staff that he wanted to stay and play anyway. At that point the coaching staff told him the truth again, this time with a complete description of every detail in our policy that they would follow. 

You guys want proof that Archie handled the situation professionally? Rob Phinisee, who committed to Archie Miller and Indiana University today, played for the same AAU team and coach as the one who Gelon was advised by. No doubt that AAU coach understood reality far better than Tom Crean or Grant Gelon.

I feel bad for a misguided Grant Gelon here BUT it was clear to the world that this wasn't a match.  

 

I dont have a problem at all with the way Arch handled it.  He saved Grant 3 years by being honest.

I said from day 1 this was a mistake.  Never changed my mind and ended up more than right.  

Crean would have tried to find a way to force this to work to prove himself right but to our University's detriment.   

 

I do wish Grant would have stayed on as a Student but I can understand the desire to play.
