Puredoo looks like they’ll (barely) get by Yale, but a very notable stat from the game:

Points in the paint:

Yale 50, Purdoo 24

It’s bizzaro Purdue this year. All perimeters, who are pretty good, and no post. It was like that even with Jacobsen. I’m really interested to see how this turns out for them. So far defense seems like it will take the most adjustment from Painter.

UCLA trying to bounce back after losing to New Mexico.

They are playing Boston U at Pauly Pavilion and there are a TON of empty, low level great seats. Looks worse than a Penn State home game.

Why does Michigan State always get to participate in the primary early season classic? They’re clearly the 4th tier program every year when it’s them with KU, UK, UNC, Duke, etc. and they never win these games. Their brand is also third rate these days.

Because this is somehow still appealing, I guess.

Because Izzo/MSU are still the biggest name brand in a top 4 conference despite the fact that you’re right. And even though Purdue has far surpassed them, I really enjoy that even in the midst of the greatest run in their history little brother is still nothing but a regional brand. They’ll never be more.

Puredoo is a case study in how a team can play really well for multiple years and still be...

Wake Forest. Or Creighton. Or maybe Rutger.
