We are a couple months into the season... And I'm not sure I've seen a less impressive group of freshman since the 2012 class. But we will get told how they should all leave to be stars in the NBA, rather than stay in college for 3-4 years where they belong.

College basketball and the NBA would be better to get the talent when it’s ready. TJD is the example of that this year.

McCullar and Shannon Jr are good examples this year. I don’t know where those 2 will get drafted but whatever team gets them will be better because of it. Instead they will try to find the shiny object that likely doesn’t turn into what they hope. There are only a few generational talents where you don’t wait to see how they develop. This draft class has zero of those as freshman.

Reed Sheppard has been by far the best freshman I've seen. He's the only one that makes me say "wow." But he doesn't scream NBA. But lordy does he play good basketball. Kid is smart. But everyone acts like Collier or the kid from Baylor are to drool over. Sheppard makes them look bad IMO. Teams would be smart this year to go for more established guys who will contribute right away and draft off potential with later picks. But that won't happen.

It doesn’t matter where they develop, and they can develop in the pros just the same as college. So for the top 20-25 guys every year that are guaranteed 1st round picks it doesn’t make a lot of sense to turn down guaranteed money. It doesn’t matter how good they ultimately become.

Miss St-Rutgers is every bit as brutal to watch as you’d expect. Can certainly see why Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey are dying to jump into games like this one.

Are we sure that Pikell is an excellent coach? Because Rugers looks like dog ****. Can’t see two five star 18 year olds turning them into a top 1/2 of the B1G team next year.

Dude took a dead program and turned it into a live one, so credit where it’s due. But it will be really interesting to see how much of what they do now is his perception of need verses how he sees the game. If he rolls those kids out and plays 55 possession games of set-based offense he’s wasting them. Imagine Harper’s gonna get his and have all the freedom he wants. But Bailey’s not really like that. He’s gonna play within the offense in the half court. They’ll have to keep him constantly involved or he’ll disappear a little bit.

Butler doesn’t foul up 3 and providence hits a three.  Tie game with 2.1 seconds

Matta should have called a timeout after they made both free throws to go up 3

he should’ve at the catch at half court. No reason to save that timeout.

They’re toast now and it’s because they played no defense on that last possession. They should’ve fouled if they knew they’re d was that bad.

Jeremy Fears was shot in the leg. Not life threatening but had surgery. That makes me think it was bad enough that he might not play for MSU again this season.

Hopefully not by Keith Appling.

(too soon?)
