I see college basketball is delivering even when I’ve been in a car all day traveling back from Missouri. OT. My connection goes in and out so I’ve missed some stuff. Have to watch the replay later lillurk 1 Quote
RaceToTheTop Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 Gabe Kalschuer fouled on a three with Iowa State down one. Iowa State at the line with 1:07 in OT. Quote

That team was 15-3, didn't lose at home, had four wins by 25 or more points and scored 28 straight points in another game. What do you think is more likely on an IU board? “Recency bias” from 7 years ago against IU, or people having their crimson tinted glasses on in favor of IU? Lol… That team did nothing out of conf. It won a bad Big Ten that year, and neither the pollsters or selection committee were impressed with it. Of course they could score, but in typical Crean fashion they couldn’t stop anyone, either. They were 59th in def. They are closer in efficiency rankings to this years IU team (16/42) than this years Purdue team. Yogi was amazing. I enjoyed beating UK (we’ll just ignore getting blown out by the other blue bloods we played that year), but that was a bad Big Ten. This year is shaping up similarly, but Purdue will have ooc success to point to. With that said, maybe they’ll lose out and make the conversation moot. Us capping off an 0-2 week for them Saturday would be nice. Quote
str8baller Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 Texas keeps trucking along. Not sure what that says about Beard. They won a good one last night. Quote
rcbowla Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 Interesting threadSeems that people saying Edey is getting away with fouls would be correct. Makes winning a lot easier when all of your opponents shoot half as many FT's as you do.Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk HoosierHoopster 1 Quote

I wouldn't trust the Big 1.o officials to get that right most of the time. str8baller 1 Quote

That year IU was 7-4 against top 50 RPI(old ways Q1). 6-1 against RPI 51-100 (Q2). 6-3 against 101-150(Q3). That record against 101-150 cost them a couple lines. I wasn’t surprised at the 5 seed they got that year despite winning the B1G. Pretty sure Sparty even though they finished 2nd to IU ended up with the better seed that year. They got a 2 or 3 seed str8baller 1 Quote
MikeRoberts Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 Has Edey been in foul trouble this year? If so, how did the opponent do it and how did his supporting cast fair without him? ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

How many 7-4 dudes have played at his level in the Big 1.o? We love to dog him for being massive but he has a lot of skill to go along with that frame. WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote

He went on a 5 game stretch a couple weeks ago where he committed 3 fouls total. 11 games this season with 0 or 1 foul. He got to 4 fouls twice, both in non-conference wins against WVU and Austin Peay. (In fairness, Trayce's foul numbers are pretty similar, but he has still fouled out twice this season in losses to Rutgers and Zona) HoosierHoopster and MikeRoberts 2 Quote

So… is it that people are avoiding contact with him? Curious if TJD can go right into him and challenge them to call the foul. I think trying to go around him is a mistake because he is so long and can recovery quickly with his reach Quote

It would be a nice game for Race to can a couple 3s. craigyv88 and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote
str8baller Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 Saw elsewhere on the internet rumored that Freemantle from Xavier may have broken/injured his foot and be out. If so that’s a big blow; he’s their top rebounder and second in scoring. Xavier is virtually tied in both net and kenpom with Illinois as our best win, as well. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
