No World Series, Football game is going to stink tonight. NBA is the NBA, you might as well watch Nebraska play in Italy on the BTN at 8

No NBA on unless you have NBATV or local. But Philly at Atlanta should be a good game. Blazers are fun to watch. Nuggets are fun to watch. Clippers have an insanely good bench.

Went to USI-Evansville exhibition tonight.Great game! USI was a final four team last year in D2 and the Aces have had a lot of hype (doesn't mean squat). Evansville won 71-68 in OT. Was really disappointed in the Aces. Evansville has two top 100 recruits and two starters from other mid major teams that transferred in. That plus their leading scorer and a few key reserves from last year returned. USI was without their two best returning players from last year and lost 4 key guys due to graduation. Aces look to be the mid-major version of the Browns. They have a long way to go. They play Kentucky in two weeks.

BREAKING: #Illini forward Tevian Jones has been suspended indefinitely due to a violation of team academic policies.

Jones received a suspension last season as well for a violation of team rules.

Y'all may think "who the heck is that?", but Jones is a hyper -talented 6'7" small forward (kinda a Troy Williams skill set) who was slated to play real minutes this year for an Illini team that is already really shallow up front. So in a B1G pecking order sense this matters a bit.

This isn’t just a college basketball thing, but there are reports athletes from everywhere will be able to profit on their likeness going forward. Just saw a report on the news. Amateurism as we know it will be over. This could get interesting.

Help! What does ‘suspended indefinitely’ even mean now days?  It sounds like someone would be kicked off the team permanently or damn well near it, but in reality seems to be more like ‘until everyone forgets so we can say we did something about it’. Like didn’t Grayson Allen get suspended indefinitely a few times during his intentional tripping benders - only to go take a quick leak and then get reinstated by K? Only time it goes the other way is when there is smoking gun criminal evidence against the offender.

‘ Suspended indefinitely’ for an expo game, and the first cupcake!! I bet Boehiem reported him and is whining like a Donkey on the indefiniteness of the suspension. Williard couldn’t  have tampered with a more deserving team!

Not sure what this means at Illinois. At NC it would mean he was dumb enough to take a real class.

Saw a little of Nebrasketball versus 1,000 student NAIA Doane College.

Nebraska won by 28, but only after being down a good part of the first half; at the ten minute mark Nebraska was up 15-13.

They were playing a Doane team that was 9-21 last year in NAIA, and was coming off a recent 14 point loss to Waldorf College (that Waldorf team recently lost to "Dordt University" by 37) and an eight point loss to the University of the Virgin Islands (a team which, apparently does not ...for real... have an indoor basketball gym, but hey, it's the Virgin Islands, so...).

  • Nebraska opens at home against Big West mega-doormat UC Riverside. If they can't win that one...
  • I know we took a while to roll over D2 Gannon, but if Nebraska isn't the worst team in the B1G this year...

Illinois down 11 with 8 left in the first in their exhibition game against Lewis.

Edit- with a little over 6 left in first half, the Iwhini have 17 points. If not for 2 quick 3s by Frazier it is only 11 points

Might as well fire Underwood at halftime. The Illinois bball program will never recover from a bad first half exhibition game, right? #fireeveryone
