Why is this dumb? They are standing up for something that they think is wrong. Sports is an awesome platform for voices to be heard loud and clear. I recall a coach by the name of Don Haskins doing some radical things with his basketball team that went against the grain of his day's ignorant norm.

Yes and Indiana refused to play a tournament in Terre Haute because they suggested we leave, I believe,  Bill Garret home, but this is a whole 'nother story. Not the same in any way, shape or form. This isn't about true rights. But, that's enough about that.

Thad Matta regarding transfers:

I like the guys we’ve got in here. We’re going through a transition where we lost three guys. After the Florida game this year, I told our guys two things after the game.

Number one, I’m tired of the B.S. I’m going back to coaching basketball. I’m going back to running this program the way we did when we got here.

The second thing is, some of you are going to transfer. You don’t know it yet, but whatever you do—don’t come see me. Just shoot me a text, because I’m tired of looking at you.

And we got rid of some guys we needed to get rid of. We got rid of problems, but we kept solutions…

Will we ever get another Top 10 recruit? At least Top 15... Gordon, Zeller and Vonleh were pretty good...

“(The top players) have a group chat and whenever a player chooses to do that we take notice and we talk about it in our group chat,” Porter said. “It’s just kind of crazy. It’s not a bad option for any of us really. You get to go overseas, you get to develop and you are a pro who is getting paid. For most of us, though, we plan to go to college. Some of us are thinking one year, some of us two years, but most of us are thinking college.”

Michael Porter quote.

Trevon Duval quote.

“A lot of us, we see it and we are like dang, maybe we don’t have to go to college,” Duval said. “Maybe we can do it a different way. A lot of us really want to go to school, though, but we see it and see that it’s possible. I was just playing against Thon last year on the circuit so it’s pretty crazy.”

From ESPN.com

The South Florida men's basketball program is under NCAA investigation for possible academic fraud issues, multiple sources told ESPN.  Assistant coach Oliver Antigua, the brother of head coach Orlando Antigua, has not been allowed to go out on the road recruiting this month, multiple sources told ESPN.  Orlando Antigua took over in 2014 after spending the previous six seasons under John Calipari -- one at Memphis and five at Kentucky.  Oliver Antigua was previously an assistant for one season at Seton Hall before he was hired to join the USF staff in 2014. He spent more than a decade as the head coach at St. Raymond High in the Bronx.  Orlando Antigua, 43, is 16-47 in his two seasons at the helm at South Florida. The Bulls were 7-24 last season.

I admit I'm confused but then again I'm an Old Fart.  They talk about college and yet quite honestly, I don't think any of the top 50 (and maybe top 100) really expect to obtain a 4-year degree.  They seemingly all have pro ambitions and the sooner the better.

All of them should be pursuing a professional career. Every college athlete should be working their ass off to be a professional athlete. They may have no chance. But if they work that hard it'll make everyone better across the slate. I don't care if it is a walk on. I feel a lot of players go to college and just say "well I'm here and can get a free education so it is whatever." Rather than "I have the opportunity and resources to become as good as I possibly can and push my own limits." All recruits/players should be pursuing a professional career in the sport they're playing.
