Looks like we're getting expansion as soon as this upcoming season to either 72 or 76 teams along with a second Dayton round in the west or central time zone. My two cents says either Omaha or Kansas City.

That’s my first foot out the door on the tourney. I’ll obviously still watch but it really kills that first weekend vibe we’ve had for the last ~40 yrs.

IMO:

get rid of the 16 seed play ins — give everyone conference a bid without a play in.  This would make all play ins being at large games.

I'd be great with reverting to old fashioned Indiana State tournament format!

Every team makes it in and we pare it down from 350 something to a champ. First two rounds include home games for the higher seeds.

It would be the most IU basketball thing ever if we're one of the last teams in next year. We'd have two extremely annoying contingents to deal with: the first would sh*t on us by saying we only got in because it expanded. The second would say stuff like "Poor Archie Miller/Mike Woodson! IU gave him such a raw deal. He'd still be employed right now if this had happened sooner!"

I wouldn’t necessarily be opposed. I think there’s a universe in which that works, but it would definitely change the “first weekend “with all the upsets and things that we are accustomed to.

I just assume that Trilly is like Curry Hicks Sage, and they process the info through burner world, and push what they feel are the most credible things they hear.

They obviously have SOME sources that are legit.  But the areas and conferences they have really strong info on are apparent.

Caden Pierce, the 23-24 Ivy League POY will redshirt season then hit the portal. 6’7 forward, played a key role on Princeton’s S16 team and had 16 boards vs. Missouri in the second round. Averaged 16 and 9 on pretty solid shooting splits. Had some injuries this past season. Brother of Colts receiver Alec. Alec played at Cinci. Also has a brother who went to William & Mary before transferring to UNC. Maybe he’d be interested in an MBA from Kelley… kid can definitely play, but I’m biased

Per Rothstein, Greg McDermott says he’s going to coach 2-3 more years before handing it off to Alan Huss. I assumed when they made that move with Huss McDermott was doing 1 more year. 3 years would be a pretty long apprenticeship.
