LamarCheeks Posted June 7, 2025 Posted June 7, 2025 Not really college basketball -- but just saw that Jaraan Cornell, a former South Bend Clay and Purdue player, died. Played them tough but ultimately came up short. That was a really good team with him and the Nailon bros and a couple other guys that played college ball at various levels. Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted June 8, 2025 Posted June 8, 2025 Washington adds Desmond Claude and I really like what they did with their roster. Could be a sneaky team. Wesley Yates, Des Claude, Zoom Diallo, Bryson Tucker, Somerville, Bundalo, Kepnang. Stuhoo and CSP 1 1 Quote

They should have been better last season too, so we will see. Some big talent at each position, if maximized. CSP 1 Quote

I think about 14 of the B1G teams built rosters fully capable of making the NCAAs. Washington’s looks better than anticipated on paper. I think Maryland surprises too. Sprinkle might be in over his head, but this roster will be a decent test of that. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted June 8, 2025 Posted June 8, 2025 Gawking at Washington is honestly wild. They added the biggest name left in the portal. So, as a normal response to that I looked up their roster today. Feel like they have a lot of strengths and are a bit underrated. Simple as that. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app It’s be different if it was the same terrible staff from the past five years with good talent, but it’s a second year staff that now has a strong roster. There’s nothing uniquely cursed about Washington that prevents them from being good next year. WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote

AZ Hoosier Posted June 10, 2025 Posted June 10, 2025 This is awesome - coaching challenges... like someone said "hey, let's slow these games down even more"... It's even more ironic that they are calling it an "instant replay review challenge". https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/coachs-challenges-coming-to-college-basketball-in-2025-26-other-rules-changes-approved/ Quote

Refs can only go to the monitor for challenges. Home Jersey 1 Quote

Panel approves changes to enhance the flow of the game in men’s basketball Some excerpts from the article: Changes include a coach's challenge at any point in a game to review out-of-bounds calls, basket interference/goaltending and whether a secondary defender was in the restricted-area arc. The panel also approved modifications to the rule on continuous motion on field goal attempts. Under the coach's challenge rule, teams must have a timeout to request an instant replay review challenge. If the instant replay review challenge is successful, teams will be allowed to have one additional video review challenge for the rest of the game, including overtime. If the first video review challenge is unsuccessful, the team loses the ability to challenge the rest of the game. Officials can initiate video reviews on basket interference/goaltending and restricted arc plays in the last two minutes of the game and into overtime. Recent data shows these reviews caused minimal game interruptions. NCAA Men's Basketball Rules Committee members think the coach's challenge will have a significant impact on the flow of the game. Officials cannot conduct video review on out-of-bounds calls unless through a coach's challenge. Under the changes to the continuous motion rule, an offensive player who ends his dribble going toward the basket and absorbs contact from the defense will be permitted to pivot or complete the step the player is on and finish the field goal attempt. Currently, players are credited with field goals only when they are fouled while shooting the basketball Quote
