NBA Draft: Noah Vonleh

Recommended Posts

The draft will be interesting again as Noah Vonleh should go pretty quickly. Let's use this thread to document his projections.

Vonleh Projections: (4/30)

ESPN - Jeff Goodman: #6 Lakers
NBADraft.net: #7 Kings
DraftExpress: #7 Kings

HoopsHype (USA Today Sports) #7 Kings  link

SB Nation #10 to the 76ers link

Bleacher Report  - #9 to Denver  link

Sporting News - #7 to Sacramento  link

CBS Sports Dudes

Gary Parrish: #5 Celtics

Zach Harper: #9 Cleveland

Matt Moore:  #7 Sacramento

Is it just me, or is the excitement for Vonleh going pro just meh... Non existent? It's definitely far different from last year with Cody & Victor. Question for the board:

How many of Cody & Victors games did you watch this season? Will you make the same effort to watch Vonleh?

I am like everyone else. The negative recruiting thing really turns me. If he were positively recruiting a la Oladipo, even as a one and done, I would be rooting for him big time. The affinity to these players does increase with time. I will root for him and follow him anyway, but not nearly with the same intensity.

I even started turning on him in the season when I heard the Rumors about him negative recruiting Goodluck. Then another whole step when he sat out that game when he was medically cleared. The closer I watched, the more I could tell he was playing for the draft and not the team.

All that said, he picked Indiana as his launching point and that affiliation alone will give me a sort of fandom.

I was crushed when Cody left. We went 56-16 in the two years he played here, won a Big Ten title and all sorts of must-see TV games, and he was the one who really came in and got the ball rolling in a time when we looked dead in the water.

Vonleh played one season here, went 17-15 with no postseason, quit on the team and then badmouthed the program to other recruits. Hope losing doesn't bother him, because he's going to be experiencing a lot of it next year.

I don't really care about Vonleh's draft position or career. Cool, he wore an Indiana uniform for a year but I was never a huge fan.

He'll be dominating the D-league next year though.

What a shitty post.

You were never a huge fan? I don't buy that for a second. You're just salty because he bolted on us after 1 year.

You would be all over his balls if he came back for another year.

I'd argue your name should be changed then :)

I wish him the best of luck. I hope he turns into a star in the league. I hope that for every IU player. I'll close with this...

I checked The pacers schedule to buy Magic and Bobcat tickets this season. I won't be checking for Team X. Nothing against him, just not as personally invested in him.

This also is t anything against 1 and done players. I just never saw the "Hoosier Spirit" in Vonleh. Just always seemed like he never bought in to what Indiana Basketball is all about.

Crazy... I thought he was pretty damn effective when we actually got him the ball.

VO and CZ left an impact on the program that will last a long time in the hearts and heads of Hoosier fans. Noah Vonleh was the second best player on a team that went 17-15. Simple as that.

As a Hoosier, I want to see him succeed. I am sorry he didn't stay, but it's not my life. We never got to really see his personality to get attached. Zeller had that humble dry sense of humor, and VO has all the charisma in the world. No ill will or hard feelings.
