If we buy out Crean soon for Miller (we won't), we would have his $10-14 million buyout, Miller's buyout most likely, then Miller's contract. We would need some heated boosters for that to happen.

Well Steve Masiello made sportscenter this morning but not for a good reason. He was going to be named the next coach at USF but it didn't go through because he falsified information on his resume. It said he graduated from Kentucky but in fact he never graduated during his time there.

I would have given him the job for not getting a degree from uk..

So if we don't win any games next year it is all good because the team got good grades? The academic stuff is great and should be taken into consideration, but lets not act like it should take precedent over everything else.

Fortunately for 41, I doubt the Alford loving crowd reads Pomeroy's blog. http://kenpom.com/blog/index.php/weblog/entry/whos_the_best_in_game_coach

You might feel this list has some credibility in that John Beilein and Fisher are both represented in the top 10, and Butler and Iowa State look a lot better than they did by just looking at the final minute. If so, let’s give some shine to Steve Alford, who coached New Mexico for four of the five seasons in this sample.

I don’t get the sense that Alford gets much credit for being a good in-game coach, and I’d guess part of it is he’s not terribly well-liked by the media (unlike Hoiberg and Stevens). Like Fisher, he plays few high-profile games when people in the Eastern time zone are watching. Furthermore, he doesn’t have many signature close-game wins. Coming into this season, his tournament performance was regarded as poor. But he deserves some credit for his in-game coaching.

Haha lol. I personally like Alford as a coach. I think he's great. I DON'T like the reason IU fans want him here. If he didn't have the IU/Bob Knight connection then I'd be all for it.

I just want to separate from the old school Indiana and move forward. Constantly looking back, and arguing we as a team are "elite"drives me nuts.

Excellent read and thanks for bringing it over. Fisher never got the credit for leading Michigan to a championship or leading the Fab 5. The Fab 5 just needed someone to roll out a ball and the championship was Frieders players is what most thought. This article shows just how good a coach he actually is...and some others noted I really like as coaches.

After hearing word of this, ky immediately became interested, stating "he's our type of guy!".

HEY EVILLE...I've got a riddle for you!

What do Steve Masiello, Tom (Trey's dad) Lyles, Anthony Davis, DeMarcus Cousins, Daniel Orton, Eric Bledsoe, Marques Teague, Brandon Knight,Doron Lamb, Terrence Jones, Nerlens Noel, Archie Goodwin, John Wall, and the entire current UK roster all have in common??

Answer: None of them will ever have a degree from Kentucky.

All I can say is this "good grade thing" is going to take some work with the remaining squad...just sayin
