I won't lie, I want Hurt...but I COMPLETELY agree TW should be grandfathered in. He AND his family came to nearly every home game (or something ridiculously close to that) his brother played if I am not mistaken. He was at a lot of games...and, as you say, likely far more than any other Indiana high school player we are currently recruiting. The fact they came from Alabama to see Christian play is something else. TW belongs at Indiana like the other Hoosier high school stars.

 

i should also note I am incredibly high on TJD. I would love to see all four, but Hurt, TJD, and Watford would be phenomenal.

Yes and I think we are showing him today how much he is loved. That when this thing starts to snowball in a couple of weeks we hope he jumps on the wagon.

Since it rarely happens that close together, anyone have any thoughts on why?  I know no one outside of the coaches and Watfords really know but any thoughts?

Perhaps they have more specific questions?  About how the roster will look next year. 

Maybe TJD has told Archie he is coming and the staff wants to discuss that.

Maybe they are telling them about TJD and letting him know he is second on the list in terms of who we prefer but we would take him and Brooks.

It’d be so cool to get commits from TJD, Brooks, and Watford all at about the same time after Romeo. Talk about making a splash...my excitement is starting to shift over to what happens AFTER April 30th.

Could you imagine. We'd have PGs fighting to commit to that talent. We'd wrap up the 2019 class before next season.

There would be a lot of Hoosier fans giddy, myself included, if we land Romeo.  We might have a hike in hospital visits if Jackson-Davis and Watford commit not long after.  If we were able to show point guards and other players (looking at you Hurt) that we have a roster and coach that can compete we'll land the players we need.

Isaiah Stewart, Trendon Watford, Keion Brooks, Trayce Jackson Davis, D.J Carton & Matthew Hurt. All either 5 stars or top 50 players in every service and IU is in great shape with all of them. Obviously we can't take them all nor do I want to act like it's our choice, but Archie WILL get at the very least one of these guys and that alone will be awesome. 

 

From conversations & personal opinions my order of readiness to pop would be:

1. Trayce

2. Trendon

3. D.J

4. Brooks

5. Stewart

6. Hurt

I would switch 3 and 4 but agree with all of the rest.

Brooks is too hard to read for me. Went to a practice & talked to his family a bit last fall & they said they wanted to wait till after the season and then things changed. Now it sounds like he will do it whenever he feels comfortable which could be at anytime. Honestly I could've put him anywhere from 3 to 6. I think we could see a few pop in the same month or two span. Once the Romeo domino falls as well as we find out what TJD & Trendon's plans are regarding class, then the rest of our targets get a better sense of things. 

To think just a few months ago people assumed Trendon wasn't an option anymore. His family was always going to keep us at least in it till a top 5 or whatever. 2 visits back to back suggest we may actually be the leader now, but Bama is a strong possibility.
