I would never fire an assistant to get a recruit but if one were leaving anyway I would give Watford a shot.

Sean Miller is due to be hired at Southwestern East State Tech and will probably need an assistant with the ability to teach the stretch four position!  :)

I know how you feel, but we've had some recruitments that felt rather right that didn't pan out, so I'm all for riding this one out while hoping for the best.

That reason seemed like a little suspect to me, especially coming right after we had an in-home visit. Could always just be a coincidence, but maybe not.

Of course. C'mon we were never really a serious consideration, but things have happened as of late. Now teams ahead of us have some unanswered questions. We're a comfortable safety net. He knows what he has in Bloomington already. Fall baby, fall!

Hmm would be interesting way around that little rule. Sean hire the relatives of Archie’s recruits and vice versa. Then no need to make them one of the 3 assistants.

Speaking of this..my fiance is a UK fan..I was gonna have Watford do one for her birthday or something in the future :) The $20 is worth it.

Couple of Crystal Ball flips from Memphis to LSU, including Jerry Meyer. Certainly influenced by Will Wade reinstatement today, but still makes you wonder... how does a family look at what’s out there on Wade/LSU and think - yeah, let’s send the boy there - that’s the coach I want to be a role model for my son!

Couple of Crystal Ball flips from Memphis to LSU, including Jerry Meyer. Certainly influenced by Will Wade reinstatement today, but still makes you wonder... how does a family look at what’s out there on Wade/LSU and think - yeah, let’s send the boy there - that’s the coach I want to be a role model for my son!

For every shady coach there are probably 100 shady kids and families. Not saying the watfords are, but there are a lot of them that don’t care and actually likely are in on it with him

Interesting. I know he will be the guy at LSU since their whole team is gone but will they be any good next year?? I feel like they are next years Arizona.

Can’t remember the last time we legit led and had another’s school just swooped  

Brooks seemed to just be because Cal had eyes on other players he missed on. Which means did we really lead?

Guys the reinstatement of Wade at LSU is likely just legal posturing.  I get it, it's the SEC and so I might be wrong.  But my guess is they can't fire him now because the investigation isn't done, and they don't want to pay the buyout.  They'll wait for the evidence then fire him with cause.  Look at the wording of the statement.

 

 

 

 

I'd guess that the Watfords know this.  And I doubt they'd commit anywhere they don't know who the coach will be, as it sounds like development for the next level will be big.  

 

Are we sure that Trendon won't get the offer even if Hurt commits to Duke?  ESPN has made Duke the biggest thing going.  Even on the bench at Duke Trendon would get more recognition than at some of these other schools.

 

It does appear we're not out of it.  As I think about it, for next year we could pair either TJD or Watford with De'Ron and hopefully Brunk, and each of the four could get 20 minutes a game.  And then there could be times when we play TJD and Watford, and that would be pretty darned effective, too.  

 

Side thought, we lost a couple games this year because Juwan was on the bench with foul trouble.  Putting him in to guard the 5 was a pretty crappy solution, because it just took our best player off the floor.  I get it, there weren't really better solutions on the bench.  I really like the idea of having Brunk and De'Ron to soak up the fouls guarding the post.

People thought we led for Garland last year, Brooks this year.   It seemed like we had a good shot at Wilkes.

Who knows if it was the case.  We technically don't know that Memphis leads for Watford either.

Weren't we considered a lock for Bruce Brown and Tremont Waters? I know those were a couple years ago. I don't remember the Brown one as much, but it wouldn't surprise me if there was something shady with Waters considering where he ended up
