(2016) SG Eron Gordon to Seton Hall

Recommended Posts

Looks like we can damn near add "off the board" to the title. From Trevor Andershock:

"Gordon has always been a scorer. He grabbed headlines as a freshman at North Central with his high point totals. Gordon is letting the game come to him more in his senior season, and he is having individual and team success because of it.

“My points have went down a little bit, but my assists and rebounds have went up this year,” said Eron Gordon after Cathedral's 90-51 victory on Thursday night. “I feel like I'm a much more efficient player and I'm much better from last year.”

As one of the top guards available, Gordon is receiving a wide range of interest.

“Seton Hall is still highly in the mix,” said Gordon. “Maryland is in the mix and Florida has shown some interest. Missouri and Ole Miss have also shown interest.”

“I took a [official] visit to Seton Hall, it went great in late October,” Gordon told NY2LA Sports. “I got to see the campus. I stayed there from Wednesday to Friday night, so it went pretty well.”

Maryland is a school that has jumped into the race with more vigor of late.

“I hope to get out to Maryland soon, not sure when, we haven't set a date. Coach [Mark] Turgeon was just here yesterday,” said Gordon. “We'll be looking to set up a date sometime after the season.”

Gordon has also taken official visit to Nevada. It appears the Wolf Pack are no longer in the mix for Gordon though.

It will not be surprising to see more and more teams get involved with Gordon down the stretch of the season. Schools will be looking to fill holes on its rosters and players will be transferring. There were over 1,000 transfers at the Division I level last year. It will likely be around that number again this season. That leaves a lot of opportunities for a new school to come in late in the process.

With Eron Gordon playing well, there is a good chance that his recruitment heats up and changes over the next two months. NY2LA Sports will closely follow Gordon's recruitment."

If he goes to Maryland you know he'll go off against us every time

Good for Gordon I think he will excel there and he will get a chance to make us regret losing him at least twice

Because Butler is my second favorite school, I hope he does excel; however, I just don't see it.  A very good high school player, but I'm not convinced there is a lot of upside improvement at the next level.  If it's Butler, I hope I'm very wrong.  (But at no time against us)

Oh I hope it's not against us either. But it's a great situation for him is all. No ill will the mutual interest wasn't there doesn't seem like their is any bad blood in this situation maybe I'm wrong though.

PS

Chip Miller @BLUEChip_Miller

Eron Gordon (@EronGordon1) tells me his final list consists of Maryland, Missouri, Seton Hall and Texas Tech. Announcement Monday.

I know he didn't end up the player we expected and not the best prospect for us, but it still makes me a little sad to not see Indiana there..I can't tell you how many times I yelled complementary things to him during his brother's games in hopes he was watching with the families.
