Not sure there are may Stirtz level players in the portal.   Kid is a stone cold killer.   Been a joy to watch the last 2 years of college.   Makes me wish I watched D2 back when he was playing there

You guys think Stirtz made McCollum. But what if McCollum made Stirtz?

Brad Underwood always looks to me like a guy who either has really, really greasy hair or never showers. Or both.

I can't wait to see the look on TKR's face when he slams into Tobe Awaka and he doesn't move an inch.

McCollum won before he had Stirtz!

Not at this level of basketball. Let’s see how he does now that Drake players are all going to be gone. I remember Mike Davis making it further than he did. There have been lots of tournament successes and then flame outs. Much more than the other way around. The regular season is a better barometer of how well a coach did over a single elimination tournament. And he was .500 in conference with little NIL compared to his peers.

Mike Davis didn't recruit or develop any of those players.  He inherited them as did Kevin Ollie, Tubby Smith, Bruce Weber, Hubert Davis, etc.  McCollum is on a far superior level.

I’m not saying Davis is better. I’m saying Davis made a national championship game and isn’t a good coach. So what McCollum did with Iowa is great but it doesn’t mean he will have future success. Over the course of the season he was a .500 coach in conference whose team made a run to the elite 8. Good for Iowa. I get the Dusty May hype and love but the McCollum love is weird to me. IU needs to worry about IU and all this handwringing over a coach who wanted Iowa over IU will go away.
