I’ll put my loathing of excessive eligibility on par with anyone’s, but this mushrooming narrative that IU is basically AAAA guys beating up on kids is REALLY starting to pi$$ me off.

In the before times, we always talked about how Indiana was a rowboat in a sea of warships.  Ohio State and Michigan are always going to be ahead of us thanks to decades of donors wanting to maintain those Hayes and Schembeckler days.  It's more about being strategic.

Besides, just winning a national championship doesn't make you elite; look at Tennessee.

You're going to have to win multiple titles to finally shut these ****ers up.  I can see why Cignetti didn't want to celebrate merely making the CFP in 2024.

Seriously, but it's hilarious to watch the narrative shift as the season progresses from "IU isn't actually good", "hasn't beaten anyone", to "they're only good because their roster's average age is older than the Green Bay Packers".

5th year seniors have always been a thing. The Covid year is gone.

If player age was the end all be all, why hasn't BYU won anything at all the past 20 years?

If people can't appreciate the genius and mastery of Cignetti yet then they're just jealous how easy he's making it look.

And I guess the underlying thought here is you just aren’t allowed to turn things around immediately. You have to stack 3 or 4 recruiting classes and suffer until those kids are developed and ready. It’s archaic and ridiculous. And they’ve stacked back to back, what, 24 man HS classes. Eventually they’ll be the base and culture builders of the program and there’ll be less portal activity. I’m confident that’s the plan. But if you bring in the right portal guys they lay the foundation and off you go. Do these idiots think Mendoza and Sarratt and Coogan and Fisher and Ponds and Nowakowski are mercenaries and not great culture guys? Jesus Christ.

Anyone know if an Adidas school has ever won a football natty?

Last one I could find by old images is 1998 Tennessee

It's laughable that people are talking about us cheating.  In a way it's a compliment that we've gotten everyone's attention and not because were a doormat.

Barely posted the past few days because I was in Atlanta.

Truly a bucket list experience. When Ponds picky-sixdied it felt like twenty jet planes were revving in 10X10 room.

The crowd was insanely pro and all IU. If you take away the Oregon band members? 90-95% IU without a doubt. With an announced attendance of over 75,000, maybe the single largest IU crowd ever; home, road, or neutral. The Oregon people I met were super nice but they kinda didn’t have much of a choice. The IU fans were exceptionally nice to them even when they could have engaged.

This semi-old IU fan stayed up past 2:00 am two nights in a row, drove 19 hours over 2.5 days, my voice is still trashed, my eyes ache, and it was one of the best entertainment and IU times of my life. With my 19 year old son and four of my absolutely best college buddies by my side.

Never daunted. And sublime.

Well done. And welcome home.

Love it. Couldn’t be happier for you and everyone who’s gotten to be a part of this ride up close. Life is experiences and memories. That’s it, that’s the list. 60 years from now your kid’s gonna be telling his great-grandkids about it and you’ll be there.
Oh, and as he’s telling them their 1st response will probably be, “Wow, you got to see President Mendoza play football?”

Take this for what it's worth but it's from an Ohio State supporter X account with 7,000 followers.

Going back and watching the Indiana-Oregon game and Oregon’s running back did not put his mouth piece in on passing plays.

Would make sense why they looked like all stars for one drive and then couldn’t do anything without the prevent defense
