Whittington (829 yards) and Hill (570 yards) will step up, especially since Limar also entered the portal. However, Davison has been a great spark for them the last couple of games.

He’s been there best at punching it into the end zone. Hes had the most carries both games of the playoffs. You could argue he was their primary back atm

I’m kind of with you and the odds-makers in that it doesn’t change much. Now if we win the game by stuffing them at the goal line or something, I’ll eat my words.

Davison is far and away their most impactful running back. Whittington is a good football player, but he’s a 203 lb back that isn’t built for 20+ carries.

Hill is also small-ish, 205 and a freshman, which is not good for pass blocking.

Counterpoint that Dierre Hill is the back that can change the game with 1 carry.

He did nothing against us earlier so hopefully Haines has his number. Fingers crossed.

While true, the more true freshmen they have in pass blocking the better. Davison has been the 230 lb freshman that wears down defenses and is a complement to Whiitington. Hill is not any of that.

Very painful injury not sure how he played the rest of the game with it.  Big development for them.  I am sure they will be ready but that's a big blow on offense for sure.

Just remember that even we didn’t know who Charlie Becker was the first time we played Oregon.

Sounds like it’s not that they don’t have anybody proven. It’s that they don’t have anybody.  They were trying out a Lb at RB apparently

Ours or theirs?

I’ve been watching the ticket sites and it looks that way. Demand looks about 30-50% higher on the IU side.

Oregon would be the case for why another round should be played on campuses. In the (hopefully very unlikely) event they play in the title game you’re asking their fans to travel cross country to Miami, ATL, and Miami again in consecutive weeks.

My tickets are around $850 now but if you go to the IU side they are almost double.  Come join us in section 237c so we can make that the IU side as well!

Brayden Platt was the guy according to Reddit, looked like he also started as an RB in High School.

It's not that they don't have a talented guy on the bench, it's that Davison is a very experienced fresman, is very talented, and is 230 lbs. Davison is their short yardage guy and he had notable success against IU in our first matchup.

They still have a hyper-talented but also small-ish freshman, Dierre Hill, that will now split game duties with Whittington. Leaning on Hill for 30% of the game means they would have an undersized freshman in pass protection for those plays.

And behind those two? They had all three other scholarship running backs enter the portal. So it's converted tight end or walk-on after that. Adding to that, Dante Moore is not in any way a running quarterback; he's tall, skinny, and not especially fast afoot.

Oregon also has five defensive backs in the portal. With their standard two linebacker, five DB set, they have one non-starting scholarship defensive back available.

It's not an Illinois vs IU situation at all yet, but a targeting penalty or injuries for Oregon could turn it into one.

Yesterday there was a pair on the Oregon side, front row about the 15 yd line for about ~$1000/e. By far the best deal I saw but ended up passing because they were Oregon side club seats that I assumed would almost be exclusively OU fans.

Our old Colts tix in the RCA dome were end zone seats. I like that vantage point and ultimately pulled the trigger on a couple there with the idea that if the market stays soft I might try and upgrade. I think it’s going to be majority IU fans like others have said.

The fact that stars seem to be aligning more in our favor just makes me more nervous like I am getting my hopes up.

Can't it be Friday already?
